No, I know. She has a charisma deficit and didn't have script writers to shape America's picture of her. I still think that even absent the ability to get away with shooting someone on Fifth Ave. and not losing a single vote, President Stefanik would be happy to consider sending Seal Team Six after her enemies. Or people that annoyed her. And would either self pardon or have a Republican majority in the Senate or House to deep six an impeachment, with a Supreme Court that might give her immunity if she ever gave up the Oval Office.

I mean, she's no Tom Cotton or even a Ron DeSantis, but don't count her out as a willing participant in the rise of the brown shirts, because I'm pretty sure she'd be here for that. So is most of the Republican donor class. They might say it's the judges and the tax cut (that wasn't a tax cut), but I'm pretty sure they're not unhappy with the notion of King Trump smiting their enemies.

I don't think there's a way back for the Establishment GOP after this. They've been marginalized so badly by MAGA, and MAGA has no real platform, so it can't continue past the death of its Dear Leader. This could be the thing that takes us to a third party. It's happened before. We don't have Whigs anymore. No Labels isn't the third party though. I could see a future where MAGA fades for a while until a new charismatic authoritarian shows up, but that's going to be hard for them to do. They'd have to maintain a level of support and donation long enough to remain relevant until the neo-Trump arises.

Ole Shitzenhispants will be dead and gone, the MAGA Hats will be around for another 20 years following his dead. They're not yesteryear's Tea Party. Those guys had somewhat of a filter. Cult 45 Leader and the internet have given these folks the green light to say and do whatever they wanna do. Confederate flag owners and supporters love holding onto "nostalgia" and statues and such.
In your wildest dreams, did you ever think you'd see a group like the Proud Boys and the Virginia woman ran over, Jan 6th and these crazy court cases? Who in their wildest dreams would ever thought that a former president (and party nominee) would have so many felony charges and pending court cases?
But, one day... the Republican party will distance themselves and return to their former party. Or, we just might see a third Party in our lifetimes?

I think the biggest pro to Elise Stefanik is that there won't be an authoritarian regime built up around Elise Stefanik. If she's Veep, and the Happy Meal diet catches up with Trump, she's going to be a footnote of a president. She's not going to make history beyond being the first woman president. The brownshirts are not going to follow Stefanik. MAGA isn't going to rally around Stefanik.
