Two reasons, but I think one is only applicable to funfor (I don't read most of what the two of you write, so it might be both). The first is that you can't understand context (in this case, trying to pass the Voting Rights Act would be a net good for the electorate, if not necessarily for the GOP supermajorities in some states) and the second is that funfor was arguing with tbr about that quote, which tbr said was Stalin. And the ORIGINATOR OF THE LINK GAVE THE QUOTE AND ATTRIBUTED IT TO STALIN.
Most people in favor of small d democracy are not against the Voting Rights Act, because it really does matter who counts the votes - and how they count them - so attempts to deep six valid ballots should probably be stymied. But no, you read something that told you Biden was admitting to voter fraud or whatever and either didn't bother listening to it or didn't listen to it in the context the comment was made, because - and God knows why - an America with Biden as president is hateful to you and you'd rather listen to Russian propaganda and disinformation.
