The only time I would send an IM is if we had already talked through email or already met or a hot date. I don’t think IM’s are for introduction. They’re like text messages. Get your point across quick.

It isn't just the single guys with the one or two word IMs. Virtually every SF or couple who has tried to contact me via IM before exchanging emails has been like that.

I really think that there's a sizable portion of the population that simply has no idea how to communicate with other human beings. Most of them are probably perfectly nice people, but they don't have a clue as to how to show that to new folks. It kind of breaks my heart.

I always read a persons profile first to see if they are interested in single males. If not, I will not send an IM. If they are interested, I will respond with, " Hi, care to chat, if not, that's ok. Enjoy your day. Sometimes I cant a response and other times I don't. If I don't, I just move on and . I am very respectful when it comes to sending or receiving IM's.

What the hell is with single guys thinking that they're likely to get a positive response from IM's containing one it two words? Especially the ones that say "let's fuck!"

By our personal standards, definitely not happening.
