Gracefully exiting the LS?

Santa Barbara, CA, Us

We have discussed this topic.

Originally when we were in our 20s, we thought, "We are done when we hit 40."

Why we put a fucking expiration date on it, I have no idea. It made no sense.

Then we came to a realization. Our exit from the lifestyle does not mean that it is OUR exit. One can exit, one can stay. I do not own my wife, nor does she own me. If jealousy were an issue, why are we in the lifestyle in the first place?

Our conclusion was simple: We will continue to be in the lifestyle as long as our genitals work. Once they are done, that person is done. If the other's works, woo hoo, go go go! Go get some! We are on this spinning rock for such a short period of time. To restrict the one you love from enjoying that time on the rock seems so selfish to us.

Great thread and something we never really thought of. First thing that comes to mind here is the rule we have where if it's not "good" for one of us, we are out. But it's likely to come up later for the partner who didn't necessarily wanna end swinging. Hmmm

Great post Mayhem!!

A few months ago I noticed that our ‘first’ couples purifier was now ‘empty’. We were friends on Facebook and they had a pretty large group that they put on events with. During 2020 I noticed that the she of the pairing was going cuckoo with all kinds of conspiracies and then as the election hit I saw that she was a full blown Q loving ‘red hatter’ and we left the two groups they had and unfriended them. I reached out to another friend that they had introduced us to and she told us that they had all of a sudden became incredibly religious, found God and abruptly shut the group down because God wouldn’t approve of swinging. Oh well…. They also moved and live very close to Izzy’s job. If they ever walk into her place I am sure it will be interesting. As Izzy put it, how do you greet someone whose dick you have sucked and fucked when they are no longer to it.

Another couple, who the female was someone we had had a threesome with and one of the first people we ever saw on SLS (we would see her at karaoke on Thursdays) they have left the LS as well, but she has had some serious medical issues. So that one seems reasonable.

Sometimes I wonder if there really is such a thing. I suppose a couple can come to a mutual decision and make this happen. Sometimes people just age out where there are no oppportunities to play with others due to their age/s. In cases where both have restrictions based on health, that could be another possibility.

I'm kind of more thinking where things just aren't working out for one of the two in a couple. In some cases it can be the man, where they just don't have the opportunities that a woman has, due to the sheer # of willing SMs.

In other cases it can be the wife that was just along for the ride to appease the husband, and she's simply had enough.

Other than that, it could be a case where either has let themselves go physically and are just nowhere near as appealing as their mate. There could be other couples they could play with in a similar state, but if for example a guy has a hot wife, there's a good chance he's not going to want a woman that has let themselves go like they have, and vice versa.

For all of these latter cases, it just doesn't seem like there will be a graceful exit strategy. It feels more like a ticking time bomb IMHO. One may go along with exiting the LS at the time, but if they really didn't want to leave the LS and they still have opportunities, I strongly suspect this will eventually cause a problem. Kind of like a Pandora's Box sort of thing. Thoughts?
