British uproar

First off, you are correct, this topic does belong in the Politics section and I suspect it will land there :)

I think all of this is related to Brexit. I watched a 30m video put out by Financial Times. youtube. com/watch?v=wO2lWmgEK1Y FT is not a left leaning, welfare state loving publication. They put out this video which explained what has happened to the economy since Brexit and the impacts it has had.

The UK when it was in the EU was part of the 3rd largest GDP. That got them a HUGE market to sell to. Now because of Brexit, They are ~ 1/8th the size. They lost all the benefits of trade within the market.

Just imagine if the US had 1 state that was NOT in the US and what would happen to that 1 state in trade? It would make that 1 state, in essence, it's own nation and now what? That is what Brexit did to the UK.

It was the Daily Star's lettuce, not the Beeb's.

In some circumstances, I would argue that women are judged more harshly than men for missteps and then extend some extra sympathy, but not in this one. There is zero historical evidence that supply side measures or those benefiting the wealthy decrease inflation and inserting radical tax cuts into a shaky economy was staggeringly stupid. As in, it's hard to think of anything more stupid.

British politics has pretty much always been cutthroat, but the rules of decorum that govern Parliament favor the knife in the back over the punch in the face.

Not withstanding the raucous debates in the House of Commons, British politics had always been seen by me as model of decorum and reasonableness. Boris, Brexit and the current bedlam have changed my views.

One of the BBC stations had a live feed with a head of lettuce and a picture of Truss asking "Who will last longer?"

What’s the current betting line on when/whether Truss quits?

Gotta believe V.Putin watches the BBC news and smirks when he considers that GB may have their third PM since the beginning of his Special Operations.

(I was going to put this in the politics forum but could stand the idea of entering that cesspool)
