Rowing machines

Completely agree with Molly. I had a full gym setup, which included a WaterRower, Stairmaster, and Peloton. Real waste of money because it turned out the prospect of physical exertion while in a room by myself was a demotivator. I was much more likely to workout--and for longer--in a gym setting. I have to wait sometimes to use one of the rowers, but that's usually not a problem. One thing to consider is at least seeing if you consistently use a gym's rower. Then, if you think you'll be disciplined about sticking to your routine at home, making the investment on a rower. Good ones can be pricey.

Yep. I use one regularly, for posture correction and cardio. Don't bother buying one unless you're really allergic to gyms. Instead, find a good, relatively inexpensive gym that doesn't upsell you too much, like Anytime Fitness, and go most days.

I say that having had a full personal gym, complete with cardio equipment. It was invaluable during COVID, but it's surprisingly harder to motivate yourself to go into the basement than to get out to the gym.

I'm thinking of buying a rowing machine to keep my lower back and legs in shape. I'm in my 70's since having both knees and a hip replaced, my glutes and hamstrings are painfully tight.
Has anyone tried a rowing machine?
