Adding testosterone supplements
First hand experience.. be careful with Clomid.. very dangerous and some we know experienced suicide tendencies. Took them six months to get rid from their body..
I have been on T shots over 10 years, work out at least 5 days a week, play tennis pickleball and all sort of sports, .. weights eating clean, saunas and having a positive attitude works wonders.. in fact she just gave me my weekly shot!
You young guys take above advice and look at Fenugreek supplements for about 8 weeks.. Ancient civilizations and healers believed fenugreek could enhance libido, and studies suggest there is truth to this claim.
These benefits are likely due to fenugreek’s ability to slightly increase free testosterone levels in men and women by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme from converting testosterone into estrogen.
If you are a man and don't want the side effects of TRT, namely the infertility, you can also look into Clomid. TRT will shut down natural T production, but Clomid will enhance normal production.
Just an update from my last post, it's 4 months of TRT and I more than doubled my bench press, leg press, deadlift, etc. Still feel amazing. Started taking care of my body later and regret I didn't have the drive earlier in life.
I think going to the gym, lifting weights, with a good diet helps. Squats are a great way to help boost your testosterone. DHEA is a precursor to testosterone, it's legal and can be purchased here in the U.S. It helps your body to produce Test without doing testosterone cypionate injections.
I had a hysterectomy years before menopause would have occurred and my thyroid went wonky in my early 20s. Turns out that the combination, at least for me, means I don't produce enough testosterone to maintain muscle mass (as in none most of the time), including in my eyes, so for years I've taken a very small dose daily as part of a compounded cream.
In return, I have to get tested every quarter, which basically means one more vial of blood added to my usual thyroid level tests.
One of the people that stick out in my head on this topic this is Dr Jeffery Life, who went through a tranformation by taking human growth hormone and testosterone as well as exercising. I've seen him pop up in YouTubes.
Last time I had my testosterone checked was over a year ago, but I was around 725 ng/dL as I recall, so not really a candidate for testosterone suppliments.
100% agree. It's a cheat code for men
Taking CYP 200 every week, it's been about two months and feel like a rockstar. Any anxiety and light depression I had is completely gone. Started at the gym and added 5 lbs of muscle in eight weeks. Only drawback is that I've gained 20 pounds, but potentially is more water retention as my body is getting used to the elevated hormone levels. Libido went from a 2-3 to a 8-9 relatively quick. So, if you're a guy you should get your t-levels tested and, if you don't care about your swimmers, ask your doc about TRT.
Only time I have tried something similar it was solely as skin contact oil.
It was used as a orgasam enhancer not that much for workout boost.
Have noticed I enjoy eating spicy food again too. Downside I noticed body odor changed, no longer able to use the tofu farting fairy deodorant I was using (lume) had to change that but it was easy and haven't had an issue since changing.
Gel = good, 1 ml every other week was better but I found 1 ml per week to be perfect. Consistently in the 850-900 range. Definitely helps me focus on health and fitness but also seems to help me focus on other things as well. Wife doesn't mind getting woke up in the middle of the night or early am either so that's a benefit. :)
Mayhem, yes I am sure the nutrition and working out 6 days a week had a huge role in it, but when I started my total t level was sub 100, now I stay between 850 and 1000. Yes I found LOTS of motivation to go workout. One of the biggest accomplishments I was able to achieve, I NEVER thought would be possible... I studied and passed my certified personal trainer course and am NOW working with my coach (former Mr America) to train for him at our local gym...
SCswingingCpl - That's awesome. Sounds like a lot is simply due to diet and exercise, but without the testosterone you'd probably be less motivated to do any of that. One of the effects of low T is constant fatigue. Hard to say if the weight gain also associated with low T is primarily from that but if you're constantly fatigued, it stands to reason you'd be less active and burning less calories as well.
Only the injections or the tabs they do under the skin really work. I get a 10 ml bottle for around a 100 bucks. I buy the needles and wipes buy the box as well. I was at 220 on my t levels when I started now 650ish on 1 ml a week. Been on T for 8 years.
I do weekly injections and it keeps my levels at the high end of range. I have been thankful that our PCP is onboard and we do regular testing. With our current insurance my monthly costs for supplies run $8. My co-pay for labs is $75 and we do them every 3 months. In the 11 months I have been on it I have lost 65 pounds, and gained a bunch of muscle. During this time we also changed our nutrition and got on a good workout program 5 days a week. Currently sitting 45# away from my end goal...
My friend that finally got the gel fought with his doc for nearly a couple years to get the test, then had to start over again because his doc left the practice and he got a new one.
I think my friend's co-pays are $30, so he had a dimished quality of life for 3 years over a lousy $20, assuming the test is $50. Even less if he paid for it with a Flex card. With results in hand he could have gone to his doc and said, "Here! Now lets do something about this!"
I think it may have already been mentioned, but it's best to take this test in the morning (by 10 am), because the T levels drop off as the day goes on. If you're borderline after taking the test in the morning, you may be below the minimum level by afternoon. That was the case with my friend, so now he had to fight with the doc to get the gel because he was borderline.
If it were me, I'd have started looking for a new doc early on.
My outside test was about 3 pm, and was 278.
My health plan test was 9 am, and was 250.
He's fine with it now.
Not that I wouldn't pay the $50, but I don't really pay for anything medical except copays for my medication.
So I talk them into doing it. It may take a bit, but is usually worth it.
tbr - I did the request to my urologist that I see for monitoring occasional high PSA results and not my PCP, so that may have also made a difference. For some reason it seems PCPs in general have issues ordering a T test.
At this point, that test was back in Jan 2021, but the result was 771, so the symptoms had nothing to do with low T. I've since dropped about 20 lbs and that seems to have helped. Some of the symptoms may just be related to aging in general.
It does not appear to be an expensive test as far as I can tell ($50?), so if it's a hassle fighting with the doc and you just want to know, you could just do out of pocket for it and likely use a Flex (pre-tax) expense account to pay for it if you have one.

"I do have a friend with borderline low T and he mentioned he got some T gel (sorry, didn't get the actual brand name) that he rubs on his shoulders and that has made a very noticable difference for him. He had to fight with his doc to even get tested though. Told him it sounded like he needed to get another doc."
I had the same problem. My PCP was resistant to even doing the testosterone test. I went to one of those doctors that make their living treating ED and they gave me a free test. I took those results to my doctor, he ordered his own test, and I am now on the gel.
It's only been a month, so don't know what my levels are at, but I am sleeping better...
I've been on Testim (gel) for many years. Definitely notice a difference in athletic performance even though it just puts your testosterone in a normal range.
The standard testosterone therapy remains a bi-weekly self-injection. The longer-lasting pellets are a relatively new formulation. The transdermal gels have been around for a while and have variable absorption. A few swear by them; most swear at them.
Before getting to any these, testosterone and sex hormone binding globulin should be measured as described, typically before 9 am, as there is diurnal variation in levels and the standards are all keyed to that early morning measure.
From reading on here, it appears the gold standard are pellets that get implanted under the skin once a month or so.

I tried the over the counter stuff with no luck. Finally broke down and went to my Dr and got on TRT.
Is anyone using any and if so, what ones do you like and how have they helped?
