Way to get it done. Also, good to know
Looking for the couple from Rochester that was hanging out with the Mrs before the band played at Iron Works on Saturday March 16. Please reach out
Not me but good luck to you!
Been running semi regularly but feeling unmotivated. 50k coming up in 12 weeks, I better step it up
Making progress. Consistent 4 milers with no pain
Ran 3 miles Saturday and 3 today. No pain doing during some aching after
Way to go! I made it 2.2 miles Saturday, longest run since surgery, some discomfort and a little residual pain. Will see how it progresses
Congrats on the PB and helping that girl
I ran a mile on the treadmill Wednesday at PT and 2 on the rail trail yesterday. Still too soon to be doing much but it least it's promising. I have been riding the bike a few times as well.
That sounds like a terrible experience. I hope the next one goes better
I had surgery on Tuesday. My doc planned to suture the horizontal tear in the meniscus. However when he got in there he couldn't do that because, in his words, " it's shredded" so he trimmed and cleaned it up the best he could and that's w…
Congrats Fokkers
Turns out this is pretty severe. MRI shows full horizontal tear to the rear of the medial meniscus. Surgical repair with sutures. Wouldn't be able to bend knee past 90deg for 4-6 weeks, no run for 4 months. Plus a small tear in the lateral…
MRI done today, follow up next Tuesday
Nicely done
Over 6 weeks of basically no running, go back to the orthopedic next Wednesday and will be scheduling an MRI. The MCL sprain is healed but the pain in the joint persists, pretty certain I tore my meniscus again. The race schedule is fallin…
MCL sprain, got a shot in the joint to reduce inflammation. I can return to running when it feels ok. Anyone have a 6 week 100k plan? Looks like I'll get one build and a taper, hopefully my base is good enough to carry me through
I'll be coming up a bit short on that number
I was running on the 100k course two Sundays ago and fell hard, must have twisted the knee before it hit the ground. Tried to run twice since but it's painful. I'm thinking MCL strain or tear, possibly another meniscus tear
Had to skip the race Saturday, knee not really improving, appointment with the orthopedic next Thursday. Likely going to have to defer the August 100k
Messed my knee up a week ago, tried to run on it twice still in pain. 50k this weekend is going to have to be down graded at best or skipped at worst
Trail 25k Saturday and 7 miles on the August 100k course on Sunday. 50k in two weeks
Been lax on the posting. Typical week day runs, trail marathon relay and 10.5 miles over the past weekend
Average weekdays, 8 yesterday and 14 today
It's definitely more fun when playing with like minded people
Citation I had on a pair of my Hoka trail shoes and injinji toe socks. Feet were wet right from the start. Two weeks ago I wore the same socks with a pair of Solomon trail shoes and my feet were wet for about the same amount of time with n…
Fokkers, congrats, that's blazing fast.
4th overall in the 3 hours. Could have gone one more lap based on the clock but Poor shoe and sock combination lead to blisters.
Fantastic, congrats to your son and you.
It went well, finished 13 minutes better than last time I ran it 7 years ago so I was pleased with that given my age. Got 4 runs in this week. Timed loop event next Saturday
Thanks 20k race yesterday, 7 mile on the rail trail for recovery today
4 miles on the rail trail. 20k race on Saturday
4.4 on the streets
I have done several trail marathons and 50ks, two 100ks and one hundred miler. This year will bring two 50ks, one 100k and one 100 miler plus a bunch of long training runs. Feel free to send a message if you want to discuss.
7.2 trail miles, 2000 feet of climbing
8 miles this morning
Missed a few days. 4, 4, 7.2 and 5.2
5.2 hilly trails
5.5 trail miles with 1364 feet of elevation gain
5 on the streets
5.1 on the rail trail
10k rail trail today, first run that felt good in two weeks. @citation, did you recently have the vaccine or COVID? I had it two years ago and it took me several months to get back to normal
4 on Wednesday 4.3 today with 988 feet of gain
55 deg, sunny but windy. 3.2 miles. So incredibly stiff
46 degrees and sunny. 3.3 miles
46 degrees and sunny. 3.3 miles
Nicely done and way to overcome the obstacles
3.2 miles with 820 feet of gain on some crusted snow trails, really tough going. @onehellofaguy maybe trail running would suit you, it's lower impact, great community, nobody cares about pace. There is a decent trail scene around the Roche…
3 muddy miles with the dogs last night Fokkers, let us know how that race goes
3.2 yesterday, first run in overa week, sidelined by a cold. Let's resume normal activities
4.5 mile dog walk. Running should resume Tuesday
4 quick ones on the streets today
4 snowy miles on the rail trail
200' - 250' per mile is about the average for most of the trail races I do in central PA and NY finger lakes. I try to get in one or two good climbing days in per week
Stomach bug had my plan all messed up last week. Should be back on track this week. 4ish hilly trail miles are the plan today with at least 1000' of gain.
Fokkers, that's a great idea
Remember that it is a long process and often difficult to maintain the lower weight, however is is worth it. Persistence pays off, don't get discouraged and give up.

Not words specifically but someone flipping the bird to the camera in their pics definitely puts us off
Go hard in an interval workout once a week and mix in some hill repeats and tempo runs occasionally. The majority of your runs should be easy, doing them all hard is counter productive.

We're fairly rural and that is certainly the exception around here, maybe it's different in a metropolitan setting.
