You can also access the National seashore from the North end, driving South from New Smyrna Beach until the road ends at lot 5. Has permanent (but not luxurious facilities but parking can be iffy.

Check out Exotic Dreams Resort in Palm Springs. We were there and liked it (but it was a slow day). I'm not sure of Sea Mountain Inn's single male policy but you might consider it. We're never been there.
