Small rant here. I cannot change anything in my profile under the Preferences. Also when I try to look at someone profile that has free members blocked, WHY am I getting blocked? I am a LIFETIME member! Another thing that gets me is people with singles blocked can still look at my profile but I cannot t see who is looking at me if they have singles blocked? They shouldn't be able to view me if they have singles blocked!
The only reason SLS is still around is because it's the cheapest deal out there. No one would pay real money for this.
Wasn't it great when SLS was a place where we could all freely do as we pleased? It was already moderated and policed, but now you can't change an accidental comma to a period without it going into an approval queue?

We're going through this now. Made a major update to the profile and had to wait. Okay, no big deal.
But then I noted I made an error with formatting. Fixing one character kicks in another 24-48 hour wait. Then I noticed another error. (I'm a bit picky about making sure things are worded correctly.) Ugh!
Yes, I get it. But it is quite discouraging.
Wow... I take that back! Updated within about 5 minutes!! Not bad, SLS. Not bad.
We totally get the necessity of moderating the profiles... we were even guilty having a cbate username on ours (which we removed) but instead of editing said portion and saying 'yo! this needs to be fixed' we got a vague message stating "Outside contact, harassment, personal info, etc." and gave no direct violation. We figured it out... I think... but having spent MUCH time writing (what I consider to be) profile GOLD!! it was all gone with the wind. No way to edit and fix the offending problem... I had to start from scratch!! Rewrote the profile again today and we are currently awaiting approval, but this time I saved it all as a word doc WHICH may I add saved my ass because the site timed out before I finished so all my masterful words would have been gone with the wind yet again. Before, we could add a bit, hit finish, and it was saved so I could continue on to the next section. Now that is now longer an option. Maddening. (btw... don't read our current profile. It's garbage. Had to piece together something without making any violations and that was all last minute. New stuff should be up soon)
Agreed, if it isn't the pedantic randomly enforced nudity rules in profile pics, unlike other places - now a simple text edit needs moderation? Which would be great, if it was timely - but it isn't. This will ultimately effect our decision to renew, for sure..
Now if you make a minor edit to your profile, you can expect to see:
"You have updates to your profile pending staff approval.
All profile updates are manually reviewed by staff and may take 24 to 48 hours if approved to appear on your profile page.
Paid members are reviewed before free members."
What if you made a simple typo? You now have to wait 24 hours before you can even see your updated profile rendered to correct it? What is up with all of these time-wasting restrictions on this site? I don't see the same on other lifestyle sites. This is getting ridiculous!
