Sideway Pic

Funny thing is they keep doing upgrades but nothing changes. The pic issue has been going on for months. Who wants to email photos, oh they need to go in this or that folder. Just pay a developer who will fix the issues. No make excuses. Simple.

Until such time that the SLS code is updated to display these pictures properly, there is one sure-fire way that your pictures can be posted correctly:

Please email the pictures to: pictures@swinglifestyle.com along with your profile name and the type of picture (public, private, or personal) and I can upload them for you.

One option:

Take a screen shot of the photo, crop out any extraneous stuff, and upload the new pic. You should have a pic with good (minimal) meta data.

This happens to us frequently also.

The root cause of this is of course SLS (did you think otherwise?). The photo uploaded program is simply dumb and does not detect photo orientation. In some cases, the device taking the photo incorrectly records the orientation in the meta data and you end up with a rotated photo.

How do I know that? Because I use Gimp (free photo editor) to blur the faces. Gimp is sophisticated enough to know the orientation and immediately suggests a rotation upon opening the photo and corrects the meta data.

So you can try the other suggestion which is rotate and try until you get one orientation right, or try opening with some form of a decent photo editor to see if it corrects the orientation data. Both will eventually get you there.

Spitbalin' here but have you tried sending in a picture purposely rotated 90 degrees? You can do this on the most basic picture editing software, even your phone, save as new file then try uploading. Worst case the picture will show up upside down, so then you can try uploading same picture but rotated the other way. It's a kludgy solution for a kludgy site, but worth a shot. M

The Iphone updates will not Sync with SLS website according to them.. What is amazing is ALL our photos are from our profile and we always uploaded new ones almost monthly.. no more .. Its amazing how the Developer IT unit cant fix it!

I send my pic correctly and shows sideways on the website. Pictures can't be edited here. How can this be fixed?
