It just doesn't work. Click couple, get to something resembling a chat page, Room link upper left brings up the normal list of rooms, click on anyone and get failed to switch rooms. So that is it, nothing else to do, it just doesn't work. Using the latest chrome and windows version,

Reboot my router, the first time I have been to this new functionality, ya gotta do better than that. My corporate clients would never accept this. Not a customer service issue, its a development and QA issue.

Did you really think I was serious about the reformatting?

I seem to remember 15-20 years ago CS people telling users to do that. I figured that it was just away to get rid of complainers. Of course one should always back-up everything before that; and examine back-up.

To the person who suggested reformatting the hard drive. Please never, ever suggest that to anyone. Reformatting a hard drive is an absolute last resort that should only be undertaken by IT Professionals.

<p>I owe you an apology. I had not actually logged in with your profile. I generally only do that as a last resort. I tested it with my profile and a regular single male test profile that I use and there were no issues. This morning, I logged into the site with your profile and it is happening for me as well. I have no idea why this is happening. I have sent the information to the developer working on the chat software. </p>

<p>If you would like, you can create a 2nd profile and I can make that one a paid profile and use that one, at least temporarily. Please send me a private message about that, if you are interested. </p>

Downtown, if I were to follow typical IT procedures I would say first reboot and see if it fixed it, and if not, reformat your hard disk :)

I believe customer support on SLS is limited to site issues. So if they deem your problem to be a user issue (which sounds like that is what Wayne has concluded), then you are on your own to troubleshoot .

I can see both sides of this. If they can't recreate the problem than how do they fix it, short of remoting into your system and using some tooling to figure out what specifically is going on? Would you even really let someone from SLS remote into your system?

If you have another LS friend with a laptop that this works on for them, perhaps have them over and connect to your network and try again, or you take your laptop to them and try it on their network.

If you're using Chrome, you can hit the F12 key, then select Network and try this and see what content (if any) it's trying to pull down. It might at least give some clues as to why this is happening.

I have this problem a lot as well. Both on my laptop and android.
I think chat gets overloaded and that's why. Not sure.

This was the second Support Request (submitted on 1/16/21) – The ticket is still open with no response. Your reply in the open forum is troubling since it was done almost 24 hours after opening the second ticket in the Support Ticket Area. I am guessing you failed to look at that ticket, had you, you would see that I did those things, and cycling off and an off devises as well. Here is my second support ticket .....

I submitted a support for an issue with the new "Beta Chat" that was closed by you support staff on 1/15/21 @ 1:33pm This is the second request for the same issue, the first was closed, with the only feedback being nothing is wrong. I have made numerous attempts to utilize the new "Beta Chat" room over the last, almost a week, now. The attached image is as far as I can go, no members are on, unable to send messages, the same error message when trying to access rooms continues. This happens in both normal and dark mode. Using my laptop (Windows 10 with all the updates) I have tried Edge, Chrome and Fire Fox, I have cleared all browser history and cookies in all three browsers to no avail. Using my IPhone (all the latest updates) If I use the internet browser I connect to SLS just fine, when I go to Beta Chat I encounter the same issue. I cannot accept another everything is fine, close out the ticket event. I am an IT person and can't for the life of me understand how anyone would not have asked me about further information the first time rather than saying it works fine and close the ticket, that is in my opinion is unprofessional and unacceptable response.

So here is what I had done before sending the first support ticket, and again multiple times since then before sending the second Support Ticket

  1. All devices cycled on and off numerous times
  2. System Restore of my Laptop to a point before the issue
  3. Uninstall and reinstall Mozilla (Firefox)
  4. Used my IPhone both on my Router and without (Used Cellur Service to connect to the interneet)
  5. Cleared Cache, cookies, reset browser settings for Edge, Chrome, FireFox
  6. I used a mobile hotspot to connect to the internet, same results for all laptop browsers

From a support standpoint, I would like to have my profile checked.

I will add – It is the job of any Tech Support to meet the End Users needs as best possible. I am the one paying for a service that is not working. To just say, I don’t see any issues with the chat room now and close the ticket is unacceptable!!! As an IT person I have the ability to troubleshoot this far better than a novice person, who, had you sent that message to them would have no recourse but to cancel their membership because there is no way they would be able to isolate the problem, fix it and enjoy the same services paid for that others enjoy.

I really want this resolved, I know my equipment, devices and service providers are all working fine except for when I try to access the Beta Chat site, so process of elimination sets in. You logged in using a different user and did not see an issue, how about logging in to my profile and trying it to see if the profile is corrupt?

<p>The job of customer service here is to explain to you how to use the site features and if we detect that the site has in issue, we report that to the site developers. We do not necessarily have the ability to provide support for whatever hardware or software you are using to access this website.</p>

<p>You stated that you could not use the new chat and showed a screen-shot. I immediately used a test profile and logged into the new chat-room and everything was working. I was not able to replicate your issue so I told you that there was no issue (meaning no issue on our end) and closed the ticket.</p>

<p>You are having some issue that is unknow to me. You can try the following to see if any of them solve your problem.</p>

<p>1) Make sure you have the latest version of your operating system and browser.</p>

<p>2) Reset your device (turn it off and back on).</p>

<p>3) Clear your browser cache</p>

<p>4) Cycle off and on your modem and router.</p>

I think that you've set your expectations way too high.

I am unable to use the Beta Chat at all, I can get into the main room, can see the general layout, switch between dark mode and normal. There are no members, can't post, I can click on the Room Icon and it list the rooms but can't get in them, I get an error message that says "Switching room failed, try again"
I tried every browser, deleted history and cookies, cleared the cache and still the same results. I even tried it on mu phone with the same results. I sent a request with a screen shot to support, along with what I mentioned. Their response.... "I don't see any issue with the chat room now" and they closed the damn ticket. Well no shit.... How'd that correct my problem. I work in IT, the last thing you do is tell someone it works on my end and then close the damn ticket!!! I sent a second request on yesterday at 7:30 am, no response. I believe I am done with this site if they respond in the same manner they did the first time!!!!

If the chat rooms are ever going to be a vehicle for actually meeting people there needs to be rooms based on location/geography. Otherwise, no value for us.

All I can say is What is wrong with the people that run this site. Customer service is nowhere to be found. This is an horrible piece of crap that cannot even be called a Beta, most functionality is not yet present and what is is buggy as hell. It takes alot for people to change, but damn if the guys that run this site are not hard at work to make people dump them. They have become the Time Warner of this industry

@alex - They do have the video chat feature, so you can sort of cam with another profile. I could be wrong, but I think a private chat room could allow more than 2 profiles to be camming together at the same time.

We don't do camming, but I could see it being of value to those that do.

We never used the chat feature on this site until we saw the “new” chat notification last week. All we gotta say is no thanks. From what we’ve seen it’s mostly mind numbing conversations about nothing, people trolling or single males stroking. Hard pass.

years ago you where able to do a private room with password you would give to who you wanted in the room. This would be awesome it allow you to do a virtual meet a great help with this covid, it would be better than video chat

It might have value in terms of screening, like a quick video chat between the ladies to make sure they're both aware and on-board with meeting in person.

Realistically, after the pandemic ends all you'll see is cheaters, closet dwellers and catfishers.

I seem to recall trying chat long ago, and I think you could create your own chat rooms. I was in the new chat and saw people that had a Cam icon next to their online name, so I'm assuming you can cam with people via Chat.

Being that we're here with the intent of meeting people in person and having sex with them and aren't interested in camming, we personally see no value in chat rooms, Based on how many were in Chat though, it does seem like there are a fair number that see value in Chat.

As far as I can tell, the chat regulars are a little perturbed as there are a lot of people just popping in and just saying Hi to check things out. This will likely die down after SLS removes the link for new Beta Chat that you see when you log in. I know it got me there to check it out, but it's not likely I'll be back. Just not our thing.

We would like to have a couples only room

C, its a business decision, more related to market segment. SLS is trying to increase subscriptions and there is a segment that does not play, like a guy whose wife does not agree (pretty significant segment) or couples who quit playing physically due to age or medical issues, but still enjoy chatting with swingers.

For those, the chat rooms, along with the online masturbation offer an avenue. They are willing to pay for a subscription for that, and SLS wants their money.

This is why the chat rooms have existed for quite some time and where those folks near you, who never seem to respond or play, are all are.
