Messages not working?

I wish we could at least get notifications of new messages. That’d be my number one request above all else. We’ve kind of simply accepted all the quirks of the site at this point, but the IM is still severely lacking making carrying in a convo more of a chore than a pleasure.

Messages reconnecting...circle of death

Has anyone else had trouble opening Messages? the page opens, but none of my conversations appear, I just see the spinning thing. Same thing happens when I try to send a message. I've tried different browsers, turned off VPN, restarted, etc, nothing works.
