Not seeing "Messages" at all. They are all in the Instant Message format. Is this the new norm or will it get changed back? Not a fan!!
Messages Not Loading
All i get is the spinnkng circle... no one has figured out what makes it work or not? This sucks gonna have to find another site i supose...
Honestly after the first few days the system has worked fine for us. IDK if they fixed the bug or what was going on but we no longer have any trouble with it now. It seems this has turned into an extension of the continual complaint about the changes thread versus the help seeking it was originally. I can actually say as the OP of this thread we would not mind it being locked and allowed to fade away.
The whole SLS system needs updating. It is continually slow, little ball just goes back on forth all day. Don't know if it is maxed out or what. Not ready for primetime!
It's not working for us either. Tried to submit ticket but that won't go through. There seems to be no response from SLS so something must be going on???
Anyone else find an actual solution for those of us on our own?

I'm just getting a blank screen when I try and msg anyone. So I guess I'm paying for a site that doesn't allow me to contact anyone.
The messages section sucks! Messages take forever to load...on any device or OS that we try. Then when it finally decides to load, and I read a message and want to go back to all my messages it takes forever again. It’s so frustrating it’s almost not worth my time to use this site, and I just signed up.
We are having the same problem. Can't send or receive messages. Spinning circle and reconnecting error message. The new message system doesn't work. Please fix it or let us email again!
Yes having email is called out in SLS's Terms of Service contract to us it's customers. But the real point is that for many of us email supports our own "lifestyle" approach to communicating with other swingers, versus using a hybrid not easy to use and badly configured IM style system that as someone else stated seems more in tune with supporting those just looking for hookups. We definitely fall in the lifestyle category, and won't stay around if this edges towards a hookup centric site.
Hopefully the discussion on these forums continues to argue for a well functioning email system as a requirement for SLS to provide to all of us.
PLEASE GIVE US OUR EMAIL AGAIN!
Bring Back Email. It is in the Contract we paid for .Or have you read the dam thing????
Just remember you're getting the (NON)benefits of a (NON)upgraded website. ONLY if tons of us complain will the powers that be step back and provide us with a working email type experience. That's what needs to be the default messaging process. If IM style or Video messaging is desired OK, but make the way almost all of us rely on to correspond to folks work again.

Finally as of just moments ago we were able to access Messages and we got the info we needed. How long will this functionality last? Who knows but right now it appears to be working at least for us. Now that does not mean we like the new system but it is what it is unless they decide to revert back. The club we started attending is associated with this site thus all the members are as well. As long as that is the case we will remain members even if we might try other sites out for looking for others who do not attend the club we do.
We used to have three options to contact people. One, we could put Kik and other contact info in our profile. And they took that away. Two, we could email people when we wanted to and that worked great. And then they took that away. Three, now we have a messaging system which we are forced to use, and it doesn't even work.
I hope someone at SLS reads this because it is rapidly forcing all of the SLS user base to go to the alternate sites.
Same here still. We haven't been able to even load the messages screen in at least 2 days. Just the spinning wheel & loading message. The same in two different browsers (Safari & Firefox) as well as on a fully updated iPhone.
So, even if we did want to try out this new, horrible messaging system, it isn't working. Makes you think the messages outage is on purpose so when it does finally work, we're all thankful?
We did get some emails via the Archived Mail system from a local groups hosts.
The IM is giving me this weird issue that after we compose a "well thought out and crafted one liner message" and hit send, the message disappears but nothing scrolls up to show what we just sent. Only after refreshing the page and going back do we see the message sent (or messages sent if we tried typing and sending it more than once). This is on a PC running WIN-7 with Chrome browser. Anyone else having this problem?
Here I thought the issue was on my end.
I cannot even see my replies. I sent a ticket, but who knows... They can't reply. Really bunk they will not address this issue.
Same here. Just says loading forever and never does. Computer phone does the same thing. Cleared history cookies and cache on both and no improvement. Bravo SLS on getting rid of the mail and replacing it with this (insert eye roll here)
Okay this seems to be a common problem or so it seems reading the forums. Now we actually sent a message and got a reply yesterday morning. It contained information we needed for the weekend but figured we could access it at a later date. Since then we get the circling thing and loading every time we try and open messages. We have been able to use the archived system to communicate with folks but that does not allow for any "new" communication. This morning we have read the Messages system is working just fine for some people. Of course we still have a problem and have submitted a ticket for it. Oh yeah at least for sending the ticket and accessing what was sent that works so far. That makes us wonder are we not holding our tin can high enough or the string tight enough to access the Messages feature properly? Anyone have a clue if it could be the browser, ad blocking (built into the browser), or something else that might be causing it? We are using a desktop computer to access the site and are not the most tech or geek folks when it comes to such things but in order to not have wasted our money for the next 5 months we want to get everything the site offers working. Honestly at this point we are glad we did not pop for a lifetime membership when we renewed the 3 month subscription we started with.
