Thank you for clarification on location change. Works just as you "profile review" wrote. Thanks
Location changes
<p>You are skipping the first step. Both of you have stated that you are starting by clicking on the "Location" tab.</p>
<p>The first page is labeled "Password". You will see an "Update" button on that page. Click that Update button and it will take you to the next page (the 'Location' page) and then you should see the zip code box.</p>
This --------- > "To change your location, go to "Tools" and select the "Update Profile" option and then on that page, select the "Location" tab and just enter the new zip code. This is how it has always worked. You do not have to select the country and state if you are in the United States. If that is the only change you make, it should not need to go through the approval process."
is NOT what I am seeing either. When I click on location the first (of several) screens is STATE. I tried to skip that part but NO the system does say "you must pick a state."
So this message is to Profile Review ~
We just did exactly as you described to change location the first screen when the location tab is clicked is what State, then county then … uggh!!!?
This a not even a reasonable process since changing locations is now a mess too.
Previously it was just enter the new zip code,
GO BACK to what is was!!!
Why give the members false information and another non response???
"...This is how it has always worked. You do not have to select the country and state if you are in the United States. If that is the only change you make, it should not need to go through the approval process."
SHOULD NOT NEED TO, and DO NOT NEED TO are very different things in regards to this website!
How would I know what the 3-page state/county/zip process was if I didn't get it presented to me and have to walk through it? I've never used SLS outside of the united states, nor have i set a location other than the united states. I'm telling you, this is the website behavior that I experienced when I reported the issue. I changed it back and got the usual 5-digit zip code and updated the tag line, but it didn't really update AND I've received 3 emails now with some cryptic email reply that my profile has been taken OFFLINE for some reason that I can't figure out. I replied to the first cryptic email asking what it meant and got 2 more replies, one of them providing another cryptic answer about my profile. All of this from a SIMPLE ZIP CODE CHANGE??? I'm not even in the zip code anymore that I tried to update when I was traveling! I'm HOME, and apparently, nobody can see my profile since your email says it's been TAKEN OFFLINE for some reason that makes no sense in the emails I've received.
I really hate getting on people for stuff, but this is just stupid. This site is a PITA to use and when problems are reported, it's dismissed as a non-issue. And what is the deal with the OFFLINE profile and the cryptic emails now???
<p>To change your location, go to "Tools" and select the "Update Profile" option and then on that page, select the "Location" tab and just enter the new zip code. This is how it has always worked. Add our voice to agreement with to all that was said!
Really just to change location now requires 3 screens of information vs just a zip code change.
Cannot believe how these improvements are a step forward or even a rational or reasoned need to make this change.
Please go back to how it was, and btw, why does a simple location change have to go through profile review??????
When we travel used to be able to just update the location to the same zip as our hotel. Today I noticed you have to choose a state, then on the following screen choose a county, then on the next screen choose a city. Is this really necessary? 3 fields on 3 different screens instead of just typing a simple 5 digit zip? How are we supposed to know the county w/o having to go look it up? So much broken on this site and this is the "improvements" being made?
