I understand all too well how frustrating things like this can be but, in the end, I try as best as I can to give the Admin's the benefit of the doubt and imagine them getting loads of emails every day.
If I'm right about that, it's probably just as frustrating for them as it is for us, so....
Rather than trying the meaningless activity of fighting a chainsaw, I just try to stay positive, blame no one, and look for alternative ways to skin the ole cat. ;^D
It's possibly not the result of an automated computer search. As often as not things like this are the result of individuals seeing something they don't like and reporting your profile to admin.
Even if your profile doesn't seem to violate any of the written terms of service, you are often taken offline and about the only thing you can do is to start guessing at what might be wrong and remove it.
I've learned two things.
1) The pettiness and spite of some individuals will never cease to amaze.
2) Getting a direct answer regarding what specifically is wrong within your profile is very similar to getting money back from the IRS once they've got it.
I've found what works best for me is to just take a guess at what might be giving me problems and removing/changing it.
I will comment though that most of these issues, kik IDs, outside email names, directing someone to your single's or couple's profile if needed, etc... are all actions that are allowed through your emails here. They are just not allowed to be placed in the narrative of your profile.
Naughtycajuns, I think it may be that those profiles were written before the new policies were put into place and if they were to edit it now the program would catch it. just my theory
Also taken off line (06/02) because we stated in our bio "available to chat on KIK." Didn't violate SLS. I think the SLS search filter parameters are too wide. But why are some members still allowed to post their kik names and we're put in SLS jail?
We were taken off line yesterday. The only mention that we have of kik is at the bottom of our profile (we use KiK to chat, if you want our number contact us) apparently this too, is a no no.
If contact info and KIK names can be exchanged by e-mail, then it's not really that big an issue in the grand scheme of things. It then allows you to chat with people you know rather than trying to figure out who is sending you chat messages on KIK. Again, there's nothing wrong with the IM or Mail features of this web site.
As for the restrictions placed on free members, is it really too much to ask to commit a few dollars to use a web site that allows you to find and connect with like minded adults? The web site has costs to operate and people who maintain it.
from what ive seen only lifetime members are able to get away with posting alternative profiles and kik names, us regular paid members get reviewed and rejected.
I think the biggest problem is that free members cant even read the messages they get, of even read the forums to find out news and update. I understand if free members arent allowed to message back because of spam bots or whatever.

Based on the posts about private contact info, I emailed Customer Service and inquired.
Private contact info such as phone nos., Kik IDs, etc... can be sent via your emails here on SLS.
The thing that is not allowed is to post them in your profile narrative.
SexxNpassion, I think it is allowed to give personal phone nos, kik, etc in a private email, but since few of these rules are actually written in the Terms of Service document, it's impossible to know. Until, of course, a profile is taken off line because admin disagrees with something that's been done.
You're also correct in that admin is not responsive in many cases in terms of explaining their actions.
Either way, I completely agree with you in that neither Lady or I would never make arrangements to actually meet someone with no other way to communicate apart from this site in the event something came up.
If that ever becomes forbiddened here it will mark the end of our participation for certain.
I have no idea why SLS restricts KIK. It must have to do with money. There can be no other good reason for them to try to keep all of our communication here. I'm a grown up and if I want to email, call or Kik people, that should be my choice. Seriously. Do they expect me to go meet a person for sex if I don't have info besides their SLS profile? Get real. You know you need a phone number or a Kik to go find someone out in the real world. But of course SLS doesn't care about convenience or what would be most helpful to us. I love SLS, don't get me wrong, but this is just stupid.
What's more stupid: we have a couples profile (this one). And recently we each paid for a single's profile because we now play alone. We can't mention any of the other profiles within each other. I can't say in the couples profile, "My single female profile is Nefarious_Sweets," because I get taken offline. I asked SLS why, and they said, "Those are our rules." The end. No explanation about why! I just wanted to know WHY, but nope. Bitch slapped.
my vote is to leave the kik/email/etc alone. let people contact each other outside of sls, because sometimes people dont check sls every day and can take a while to respond to anything. where as kik is on your phone and you can respond, (or ignore) at a moments notice.
I became a paid member to support the site and then all of these changes started happening, the profile editing and approval is getting way out of hand. I dont think ill be renewing my membership
<p>The United States was removed from being member selectable quite a few years ago. This was by design. Someone needing to switch to the United States would simply need to contact one of the staff member profiles. With the new updates to the site, it was recently added back in, so members can select it themselves now.</p>
I have a friend who goes out of country on business. She had changed her location to where she was. When she came back, she could nolonger set her location back to the United States. In the "location" pull-down option list there was simply a blank option item with a radio button, where the normal United States option is. So she tried that, only to get a Fatal Exception error. The error message states that SLS has been notified. Was the problem fixed? No. She finally resorted to purposely generating 5 to 10 fatal exception a day, in an attempt to get their attention. Did they ever respond with an email saying they knew about the problem? No. Did they ever respond with an email to tell her that she needed to go through some type of special moderator? No. World class...I don't think so. The Better Business Bureau has given Dashboardhosting LLC, aka SLS, an "F" rating. World class, not hardly.

Not only that Bowtie, but if you discover a typo or grammatical error in your profile and try to correct it, that change appears to require moderator approval.
We tried to add a note about upcoming travel plans, and got the e-mail about our profile being taken offline because we said we could be contacted "on KIK using the same name".
There are many really great things about this web site. But it could be so much better, world class really, with a few more features, and a more user friendly moderator/customer service philosophy.
Yeah it does now after I had to appeal to separate moderators. Apparently if your location is changed or you change it out of the country, ONLY an SLS moderator can put you back in the United States.

They recently shut my profile down for mentioning kik. But when they did it they screwed up my location.....now I can't change my location back to New Jersey because United States isn't in the drop down menu. SO even though my profile is unblocked it is still screwed up. Ive sent several messages and nobody will get back to me.

We have tried Gmail, yahoo and others and the problem seems to follow us. there is a problem somewhere and i doubt it's our email accounts. the issue is intermittent and the delays usually start on Thursday or Friday <G>

Why should anyone care whether or not you put a KIK contact name in your profile?
Really people no one is forcing you to use KIK it's just an optional way to communicate..lighten up folks.
Maybe SLS should start their own official KIK room for those that enjoy real time chatting, we find it beneficial, it's easier to chat with someone live for 20 mins and see a live pic instead of swapping half a dozen email through SLS.
And yes the SLS live chat sucks, who want to have to be logged into this site on your phone to get instant messages.
KIK is much easier for us.

Really. I find this all pretty funny.
If the site wants to prohibit profiles from displaying a kik handle so be it.
Personally i could care less. If someone post their handle it does not bother me in the least. A lot of people really enjoy the real time chat as 1st contact.
Kik allows for chatting without someone giving up their phone number and for couples all 4 can be chatting on the same thread each with their own handle. And if you dont like someone you can block the handle from contacting you.
..... now people that dont fill out their profile yeah that bothers me and i report them every time.
