Do you remember when SLS could bill your telephone?

You got me. I live just outside of one of the biggest cities in the world. Great access to technology, the arts, cuisine, education and just about every service you can imagine. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

AandJinNNJ spoken like someone who does not live in an area with crappy cell coverage that has a land line phone not only for communication but also internet connection. Oh and while I do not worry about making a toll call I have a long distance plan bundled in with everything else on the land line. This whole thing does make one wonder if there still is a place with a "pay phone" you would need to make a toll call from.

Toll? The only toll calls left are international calls. I can call anywhere in the US for free with my cell plan. Haven't thought about LD charges for years, maybe a decade.

I enjoyed that feature for a few different reasons. Unfortunately, I never got to test it out on my calling cards from other long-distance carriers who had offered me various Toll account limits. It would have been really nice if the powers that be would have maximized the potential of that service. Such as being able to purchase video or toys from their shop or even other sls merchandise. After all, that was the way the original home shopping network worked and similar other infomercials. It wasn't too long ago that I can remember paying my electric bill with my telephone account. Cell phones are great but they can't do everything a home phone could. And when was the last time your cell carrier offered you a toll account with a calling card too aka a credit card? With as much shit as there is for a smart cell phone, it needs a smart account to go with it. Some carriers would offer a toll account with a calling card and it had a limit you could spend at payphones or abroad and it would automatically renew no charge. They wanted you to switch long-distance carriers to them. If you don't remember how toll worked it was basically a credit amount that covered expense above and beyond the normal phone bill.
