One other thing .. it takes us well over an hour to shower, cut all areas, lotion all parts, hair blow dry.. Kats takes about 20 minutes to do.., dress.. etc we will not do a video chat for "us" .. as we are not doing that for a video chat.. but would rather meet and off to ones home after if we click.
So we agree that many are fakes, flakes and many other things especially since CL closed down.... however if one pays for a lifetime or any membership.. it should not be up to SLS to purge files.. we have seen friends go through cancer, operations, etc.. and they are idle.. so agree with free ones being purged after 2 weeks intro.. and many including us add and delete photos several times a year.. you just need to vet all when you meet.
I also say we should have a "YELP type rating on all with remarks..
See this quite often... there a profile I came across that was Member since 2014 & the couples ages are 25M & 22F, so we’re they 18 & 15 when they signed up here? And yes, we’ve been members here for about 10 years combining ours in 2014, but have also seen profiles with the same picture(s) for 10 years or no profile updates at all. Some still have taglines touting the party they were going to in 2015 lol. And some are just dead profiles. Haven’t been online in years. SLS should just do a purge of all inactive profiles over a year old.
These threads remind us to update our ages. We always keep older pics that are accurate looking but try to add new ones. A video chat or asking for very recent pics before playing is a good idea
In the Addition comments section of our profile, I mention that we do keep our ages up to date, just because not everyone does.
And that sucks for those of us who update such things consistently.
Yes! If they signed up 5 years ago, I add 5 to their age.

We have come used to accept that most couples in person will never look as good as their site photos, which is fine. Most (not all) of us will put our best photos on the site, which is fair and logical.
We have come across many couples whose photos were quite different than reality. Usually in terms of weight and age. We never understood the purpose. Starting with a lie from the first moment you meet is the absolute best way of ensuring the encounter will go nowhere, and becomes a colossal waste of time for everyone.
The funniest case we have ever ran into, was this couple, who are no longer on SLS, who had very sexy photos on the site. When we met, we did not even recognize them in any way. They were much older, heavier, and uglier. When we asked, their response was:
"Oh, those were just model photos we downloaded from the internet!!!"
I kid you not.
It certainly isn't always the case, but if you look at when someone signed up and added those number of years to their age, in most cases, that's worst case on the age part.
That said, I do know people that claim to be 55 when they are much older. I think this is because a lot of people set their preference to a max age of 55. If you're older than that and someone posts a Hot Date with that limit, you can't even see who the date is for. I am not making a case that you should be able to BTW.
I have heard some literally say, "Well, I can pass for XX so that's the age I post." It would have been nice if the site auto-updated age based on your birthday, but then I suppose people could just lie about their birthday.
As for flattering camera angles and such, I think that's fair. People that know how to dress will select clothes that accentuate their best features and hide/minimize their worst. If people can take a current pic that makes them look better, I say, more power to them.

We met a couple from another website once at a local bar. The ONLY thing that remotely resembled their photos was the lady having auburn hair. She was 15 years older and a no-shit, full 100 pounds heavier. The male half was barely more recognizable as being the same guy in the photos, but 15+ years older. Needless to say, we did not sit down for a drink and small talk to "see how we hit it off" with them.
Honestly I can say we have had many, many more successful meets than bad ones, but no matter how much vetting you try to do, there is still a lot that can be hidden behind the other side of a keyboard.
There's a good chance that, knowing what you know now, if you looked at their profiles and photos again you'd see some clues that you weren't being shown current photos. It definitely pays to look at profiles as if they were mysteries to be solved.
There's a couple on here I first met in 2003 and I'm pretty sure their profile photo is the same one that was on the business card they gave me then. They're lovely people, but probably in some serious denial about the ravages of time and they're far from unique in that.
EroticMaker, people don't update their profile very often. Also frustrating. They need to be called out on that, too!

What about couples where their profile says they are newbies, but they joined SLS 5+ years ago.
It's like any other "dating" site on the internet...people use old pics to snag dates. We've met couples whose pics showed 100 lbs less than RL, 10 more teeth, a much fuller head of hair and were taken more than 10 years ago. We've run into it all over the country.
Thankfully you can tell the moment you see them that they can't be trusted. Run away, block them and don't look back.
The system does not automatically update your age.
Pictures are an issue. We have been here for over a decade, and there are people who have not changed their pictures in all that time.
I think our oldest picture is two years old. Most are from last summer/fall.
The use of dated pics seems to be a common practice with many singles and couples. We have met with some couples that their pics made them look like they were at least 20 yrs younger and many pounds lighter. Another issue is people lying about their age.
Recently I've run into this unique situation where I was catfished by two people using their own pics. Yes that's right you read that correctly. Met with two ladies on two separate occasions and they both had very credible and certified profiles. Only issue was they didn't look anything like their pictures. They must of been using pictures of themselves from 15-25 years ago and look nothing like the pictures anymore.
Has anyone else had similar experience and is this acceptable on SLS?
