Agree that mail was better than IM. I don’t assume bad intentions on the part of the site owners, but I hope they will listen to their users and bring back mail.

The IM here does not work on our computer, and this computer is our only internet access. This site is now useless to us.

All this is falling on deaf ears.....
The owners/operators of SLS don’t care what us members/customers think or what we want. If they did, they would, at the very least, explain why the changes were made and why they won’t be reversed.
I hate to sound so negative, but their actions speak loudly. Or inactions. There are so many actual site improvements they could make, yet every change made has been met with overwhelming negativity. It’s obvious the changes have made most of us unhappy, yet the comments here are ignored, and support tickets closes without response.
The reward for the many of us who chose to pay for lifetime memberships are the ones who have been screwed. SLS has our money whether we are here every day or never log in again. There’s literally nothing we can do except complain, and that has never resulted in a change here. The paid members have a strong voice because if they choose not to renew, it will directly impact the revenue stream.

I thing the owners of S l S Are afraid to Tell us How we are being Used. To make Money . By taking changing things we have Payed for > To F...... Dumb to Know You cant change The rules after a contract is signed. And it hold up in Court of Law .May be we shoud talk about their Breach Of Contract !!!

Add us to the bring back the email. For us it was easier to vex single men. Much better than the IM one liners.
Besides SLS scr*wing the pooch on the mail, has anyone seen any other site improvements....we haven’t.
Also it’s A little Hypocrisy on SLS part, pushing us to have INSTANT MESSAGING, yet non instant hot dates . (UGH.. 24 hr delay)
We checked out APG, great site for east coast area and spreading

So it sucks... we wont try it then, we tried SDC about 2 years ago and thought it sucked. appreciate the reply. If SLS ruins hot date we will be forced to just rely on local clubs.

The APG hot dates system isn't as good as the one here but they do have one. You select the date and describe what you are doing. The problem with APG is geographic. Their membership base is centered in the Washington, DC - Baltimore corridor. Once you are out of that area, the number of members drops dramatically.
Another option might be SDC. We actually used SDC during our travels and they even have quite a few members outside of the USA.

That's a good point with the TOS. SLS is now in violation of their own policies.
Generally, when there's a major TOS change, an announcement and approval screen is put up so that members will have to click and approve of the new TOS as a condition of continued use of the site. Google, Facebook, Ebay, Amazon etc etc all do this. Not because they care about their customers (the bigs don't care, believe me), but in order to protect themselves.

This new system does not look good. I use the mail system all the time to converse with couples that I have known for awhile now to make plans. Why did this feature go away?

We will discontinue using this site if the email system is not brought back. We especially want to disable the video chat options. The site is basically unusable (for messaging others) as it stands. We do not want to IM or video chat but responding to emails when time permits and we both had a chance to review is desired.
