I think it was a combination of things. Late 2000's i've found the site AFF. Stumbled upon gary & margaret's website & they mentioned they were leaving yahoo. I think I found out about sls under so cal circus on the aff site. Followed them under yahoo. It was a long long time ago. I'd say over a decade.

I found a list of swinger sites on Usenet.

Yes, Usenet.

I had emergency surgery. It made me open my eyes to the life I have not been living. I utilized google and found SLS. Still navigating our way through the lifestyle. But the friends we have made have made the journey worth it to us.

How did I find SLS? Curiosity made me do it.

As a kid in NY I would listened to AM radio late at night, some shows were as far away as New Orleans, but I would mostly listen to talk radio.

While living in Houston in the 90's I found a show titled: "Confessions with Wash Allen". He would read a letter, (a confession from a listener) then in a lightning round type of action, he would take callers, (soothsayers) with their spin/advice for the author of the letter. Some of the callers were hilarious and it would make me question the way people think.

Then in the early 2000's while driving back from Louisiana I would frequently catch a late night XM radio show named "The Dream Doctor" featuring Charles McPhee. It was the same scenario, callers would call in with their dreams and he would interpret the meaning. It was pretty fascinating; I would come to my own conclusions and was amazed how often I would be in-line with his assessments. Sadly Charles McPhee passed away at an early age of 49.

And finally, around 2015 I found an on-line Poly forum where I would read stories, some were daily diaries about Poly-life, others just Poly situations and so on. Reading those stories piqued my curiosity and made me reflect on my past. I realized some similarities and possible situations that could have altered my life's path. Some of the stories mentioned SLS, Fet-Life, AFF, and others. Like I said; Curiosity made me do it.

I think that I just Googled Swinger Websites after we decided to get into the LS. Back then, free SLS users could do a lot more than they can now. Of course back then, Craigslist personals still existed, so a lot of the Craigslist riff raff hadn't migrated to the popular LS sites yet.

We had dabbled a bit in swinging in the early 90's before the internet took off. Had to go to the adult bookstore & get the swinger mag & write to people snail mail using a PO box. Joined a site a few years later, can't remember the name. Saw an article about the lifestyle in a magazine & SLS was mentioned, checked it out. The rest is history :D

Moved to a new state and lost our long time local FWB's who we partied with .. also both had very high profile jobs in south Florida (we left) and no longer needed to be hush hush about being on a swing site! Most in our South FL area knew who the swingers were and many partied together or saw each at events.

I was on AFF as well and was tired of the spam bots, fake profiles, and hookers. I found SDC as well as SLS and found a home here as the folks were genuine and welcoming to SM.

We joined SLS the first month it started. Before that you had to purchase the little books at the book store and send a letter. What a pain gun the ass that was.

Years back, we were just curious if there was a good way to reach lifestyle people and just googled it. We are on three sites right now.

We are here for the articles!

We had been to a club and wanted to be able to find people who weren't 4.5 miles away. I thought, "You can find anything on the internet!"
And I was right! I tried s could other sites but didn't like them, plus I had to spend more money than I liked AND it was tough to cancel.

Do you remember how you first found out about SLS? Were you attending an informal party were this world site was discussed or did to just happen on to SLS by chance?
