Creative excuses

Hmmm...I'm just wondering, might he really have had a sinus infection? I get them occassionally due to allergies, and it's definitely allergy season. Just today I had an allergic reaction in one of my eyes. It began itching, swelling up, and then looked like I had been punched. Meeting a new friend Tuesday and I was seriously wondering if I would have to cancel. Maybe I am naive and give people the benefit of the doubt...

We've all been there, someone that you're meeting for the first time cancels at the last minute. The reason we were given this weekend was that he came down with a serious sinus infection the night before. Not a very original excuse. It got me wondering, what are some of the more creative excuses you've heard for cancelling a date or just not showing up?
