Party talk

Kinston, NC, Us

We love the house parties. They have been fun. It's easy to move from meeting to flirting to playing if you all have an interest in each other. House parties run the gamut from ratty to a bit posh and everywhere in between.

We've been to really seedy parties, where we leave quickly or even turn around after driving by the house.

We've also attended somewhat posh events where the food is presented well and the home is lavish.

The norm, in our experience, lies in the somewhere in the middle: Nice and largeish house, BYOB, potluck food, and BYOC. Can you guess what BYOC may mean?

A further wrinkle is that one month a house party is banging. The next month it is kinda lame. This is due to the crowd that shows up. It seems more experienced swingers make a party really fun as they are not shy about nudity, touching, or full-blown sex in front of others.

A favorite version of the house party is a pool party where there is good privacy. We've attended some wild pool parties in tight neighborhoods and they are mini versions of Hedo II. SLS does a very good job of posting a large variety of house parties and they have become one of our favorite things to do. We have successfully attended parties on travel where we know no one when we show up. Good communication is the way to make this successful.

Yes discretion is a must here in the islands due to everyone knows everyone or you’re related to it’s so small and has a large religious community. It may be true that locals don’t like visitors but that’s the young juvenile population most adults welcome the visitors. We have tried to organize meet and greets and have posted on hotdates a lot but no success. That doesn’t stop us we just keep on trying and are always hoping to meet new visitors

I have the same problem where I live in CT.
Not even a meet and greet.
If you do not mind my asking, have you tried anything that worked for finding swingers? I tried Fetlife munches but they tend not to have sex with strangers and do not like it when you try to meet people at a munch.
I was just curious if you tried a cruise or some other event.

On Oahu, we were told that locals were particularly cautious since they are on an island and privacy was a larger concern than being on the mainland. Also, not all native locals like mainlanders. Play options tend to be other vacationers.

You all are so lucky to have so many options for everyone. There isn’t anything like that here especially since the pandemic. We have a couple of strip clubs on the island of Oahu but that’s it. There were house parties before but that all ended.

Yes we are, and there are many more LS events by us I've not mentioned. Providence, RI is within 2 hours and they have 3 clubs that regularly advertise. There are also at least 3 different groups doing hotel take overs. All of these charge for memberships AND an admission fee. A hotel takeover could easily be a $500 weekend, and I wouldn't mind so much but they attract a LOT of wannabe swingers, or ones that ONLY play with their partner.

Like any other party, you can do well as a regular but it's hit of miss otherwise. With so much more local activity where we KNOW people are attending a party to play with others, it just isn't worth it to us to go that far out of our way and spend that kind of money on the "hope" that we have a good time. There are also enough new people that rotate through the parties we attend that we do still get to meet and play with new people.

In addition to that, we do meet and play with people we meet online as well as having some regulars we get together with weekly for dinner, drinks, cards, and play time if people are up for it.

We are about an hour out of Charlotte NC. In the Charlotte metro area(predominately suburbs locations) you have one on premise club open every Fri/Sat. Dance club with playspaces 3-4 private and 3-4 open room and a smallish dungeon room. We have another on premise club with mansion parties every other week and some special events. They also have clothing optional pool parties. We have 3-4 various hotel based partial or full takeovers. Schedules vary, some quarterly, others near monthly. Another in this category is quarterly and in Winston which is 1 1/2 away. They are top shelf and are weekend parties with lots of vendors and activities. 2 hrs away an every week on premise located in a residential house with pool. So pool parties there also. 2 1/2 away and more hotel takeovers are scheduled by an outfit working multiple eastern US locations called Friction. Add in house parties available to us and WNC being a vacation spot, occasional fun with vacationers. Add in 3 or so lifestyle or lifestyle friendly campgrounds which can be quite a blast in pool season across the same travel timings. So you mentioned no fee/potluck, that's the house parties, none with private space though typically mutiple playspaces available and yes sometimes crowded. . In our age bracket, one 45 min away, say 4 a year. Another 1 1/2, monthly in summer/spring/fall, another 3 hrs away and another 4 1/2. That's on the coast so it's easy to make that a mini vacay with a party included. Same city they just started another swing club we aren't familiar with yet. Plenty of meet n greets, which are typically held at breweries, bars and strip clubs. So all involve whatever you eat or drink. Strip club one we go to is actually a bar within a much larger club, so private but buying drinks etc. So almost every weekend, we have options though most paying in some form or the other and with some requiring more travel. With that said, aren't you within 2 hrs of Boston? I would have thought there would be plenty happening in that area.

I am kind of surprised that there isn't a topic about different party types and what people's take is on them. I think that people are aware of the various party types such as Meet & Greet, house party, clubs, hotel room party, and hotel take-over. Not sure if newer people are aware of some of the caveats/nuances.

For example, we have a club by us that does not allow on-prem play. They are essentially a Meet & Greet. Other differences are that house parties may or may not have private rooms to play in.

We actually have been to a hotel takeover that did not require a "membership fee". That is rare. These are not to be confused with "hotel room" parties that are usually held in a suite at a hotel. These (by us) are ALL open room play.

There can be other variation, but interested in what parties people like and have been to in their areas. In our area, we have house, hotel room, and hotel takeover parties.

We've only been to 2 hotel takeovers. The SLS listed one was expensive and had few play opportunities outside of the group we went with. They required a membership fee, admission fee, and of course, the cost for the hotel room itself. The other was one some of our friends put together and was a blast, though it did have a number of people that just wanted to watch.

One of our favorite parties are house parties. The only problem is if they can get too many people and do not have enough play space to accomodate the number of attendees. We also like hotel room or club parties that don't have membership fees. We have a new party by us that is not listed as a club, but it is a venue dedicated to LS parties like a club.

I would think being Halloween, now is a time when you'd see one of the largest number of parties in all areas. So, what do you have in your area and what do you like or not like about them?
