Do the Black Rings ever work?

You are probably right in the useless thought, if, you are waiting on the ring or whatever to attract people. I know you are right about the smile and just being sociable.
I do think there may be a place for all this stuff though. There is always the point when the conversation is humming along in vanilla mode, when one or both parties are wondering "if". At that point a pineapple tie clip and a ring, or a ring with a pineapple applique might help get past the hump .

BTW you really did not have to move all the way to Florida after we met for dinner. We would have taken no for an answer ;)

Of no use at all. Even if other lifestyle people see them, they are very reluctant to talk to us. We have been in the lifestyle a long time. No one has ever approached us when we wore the rings, necklaces or bracelets. Save your money. Just get in the habit of saying "hi" and striking up a conversation. We live in a lifestyle resort and people may talk to us, but rarely talk about swinging let alone getting involved. Tread lightly also, as you need to be careful what kind, and how you attract people. We are very cautions not to get caught up in the moment.
It is easier to shy away from couples first, than to "break away" if they tend to get too close. Sorry note than you asked for just felt like chatting......lol

Add a small pineapple to the ring.

The black ring is super effective when locating people at a house party or hotel takeover. Like the pineapple it is a pretty generic thing that every now and again someone may ask about or recognize. With us, it has only happened once.

I see a LOT of black rings nowadays, almost certainly too many to all be LS folks. Im pretty sure that it's become a more general cultural thing. I wouldn't expect it to be particularly effective as an LS signal.

We will find out we are picking up some today and wearing them while we travel this week.

I got a comment about my ring at 7-11 late one night after work. He was an employee there, but unfortunately never saw him again. That was disappointing since he seemed intrigued.
But it worked, in that he noticed at least.

Black Ring. I wear mine periodically. Does me no good, as no one seems to know what it stands for. II also wear an SLS necklace which has done me no good. I feel IM better off to wear nothing to symbolize this at all. It is a pain to go out of my way with jewelry or symbols. People can simply ask us if we are in the lifestyle. So No black rings do not work.

I only became aware of thre black rings seeing it on someone's profile here once. Hubby got a pack of 4 silicone rings and one is black. It just occurred to me he wore it at a Downtown Association meeting the other night! Bahahaha. Nobody approached us, but I'll look for others looking in the future!

Huh, i never heard of the black ring concept before.. So, wouldn't even try to look for it, but i will be from now on.... Funny thing is i use a couple black rubber gaskets on either side of my wedding ring to help stop some movement of the ring when we first got married some 19 years ago... no one has approached me as of yet in that way before... but interesting there should be an international symbol of some sort to help distinguish lifestylers from vanilla's when out and about in public...

I have heard of the hot wife anklet concept, but normally only look for that at clubs and bars and not in general public...

Okay, we've been in the lifestyle long enough now and each have a black ring we wear on our right have ring fingers. We don't wear them every day, but whenever we think we may have luck.
But the only time we have seen anyone else wearing them is at actual lifestyle events where we didn't need them.
Has anyone ever had success from wearing the Black Rings in vanilla world?
