Hmmmm, didn't see this was in Better Profiles. I guess the question belongs more in Website. Just ended up here based on a search ;)

/Wave. Hi nice critical folks, slowly adopting your advice, still much work to be done before we jump in the deep end here and ask for a crit :)

Wayne,

You need to go to 'Tools' and 'Manage Galleries' and edit your personal gallery and add pictures to it.

Hmm I do not see the other pictures from my default private galley to select them to add to a custom gallery at the moment when I got 'edit'. was there a change there recently?

Yeah, I give up. I think I figured out how to share the personal and private galleries, the rest is just too damn confusing to even bother with.

I think I am somewhat on the right track, but still a little confused and I don't foresee us utilizing the photo "galleries" to the intended maximum. So this is what I have...I go to the upper right drop down menu and select "My Profile"and it says I have "4" galleries. So I click on the "4 Galleries" tab and I see I have "Public Default Gallery with 5 pics" and a "Private Default Gallery with 10 pics". That's all I see, and I assume it's natural that I can see all the pictures in both galleries since it's me logged in? Anyway, my confusion really comes in when I click on "Tools" in the menu and select "Manage Galleries". At that point I show "2" Public Galleries, "0" Private Galleries, and "0" Personal Galleries. It appears that something is set right because I have had people ask to unlock my photo's. So I assume they can see one of my public folders until I click their "key icon" on their profile. Then they reply "Thanks for opening your photos". But I just have a feeling we are not utilizing the galleries to their fullest potential.

Newjourneyz18,

You have created a personal gallery but you have not added any of your personal pictures to that gallery, so there is nothing to share. You need to go to 'Tools' and 'Manage Galleries' and edit your personal gallery and add pictures to it.

Thank GOD, I’m not the only one confused by this! I’ve done everything it says to do. I’ve tried to give access to our “personal gallery” which per the rules states that’s the only gallery to post any “vagina/penis” pics (yet I’ve seen them in the private galleries) but don’t want to break any rules. Upon clicking the binoculars icon under a profile, it then sos how long your giving permission, I click the amount of time and then submit. I always get the message “you must pick a gallery” yet there’s no gallery option available??? So how does one open the “personal gallery” for others to view, including ourselves? Thank you!

Thank you! That helped immensely. I'll get it figured out sooner or later.

The picture system consists of an old system and a new system. It has a little bit of a learning curve due to that, but is pretty easy once you understand it.

1) Old system: The original site did not have galleries. There were public pictures and private pictures. All profiles had a default public 'gallery' where all public pictures went and all profiles had a default private 'gallery' where all private pictures went.

2) The site now has custom galleries and personal pictures. You can go to "Tools" and "Manage Galleries" to create and edit custom galleries. You can create custom galleries of type: Public, Private, or Personal to add your pictures into. To give someone (including yourself) access to a custom gallery, open and view their profile and select the 'Personal' icon (picture of binoculars).

The old system still exists and to give someone access to all your private pictures in your default private 'gallery', you view their profile and click on the "Private" icon (picture of a key). You will see your own default private gallery without having to give yourself access. You do have to give yourself access to any custom galleries you create before you can view them. You can go to the 'Friends' page and scroll down to the private picture access list to see who has access and to remove access to the default private gallery.

Can someone help me figure out that photo galleries? It is so confusing in that you "don't have access to your own galleries" and then you have to create some, assign permissions, allow access, create others, upload photos, ughhhhh.....this is what I have at this point:

Public - Default Gallery, Locked Gallery
Private - Default Gallery, Locked Gallery
Personal - Locked Gallery

As far as I know, there are no pictures in the public and private "locked gallery". What can you all see and why is this so complicated!??? lol
