Waterproof mattress covers?

Mayhem- Yup!! And building on the riding crop/Tractor Supply point. This is why I bought my riding crop from a tack shop online instead of a sex toy shop. 10x better quality and a lot cheaper. Tractor supply is also good for cock rings, walmart for wedge pillows and blindfolds, etc. Just need to know where to look and what to look for. It's nothing new. Look at the "eroscillator" from the 80's and compare it to a motorized toothbrush.... Even the first vibrator back in the mid-late 1800's....just looks like the gearing of a hand-cranked egg beater/mixer of the time. We tend to get creative and develop toys and sexual aids from things that already exist and are much cheaper.

I have noticed that some of the so-called "waterproof mattress pads" that are cloth will soak through eventually. That's why we use the plastic one under it.

For us, a waterproof fitted sheet would be better than a waterproof blanket. Though the blanket can be thrown over a couch, as mentioned, we tend not to play on the couches with others. When we set up for play time we just have play beds with pillows and a fitted sheet.

Pretty much anything bought at a specialty store tends to be ridiculously priced. Anyone that does some of their own work on ANY motor vehicle knows that. In some cases, the markup at a marina or cycle/snowmobile shop can be 5x plus the price versus getting the same thing at a discount auto parts place.

People selling sex related items definitely fall into that category. A good example is look at the price/quality of riding crops at sex toy specialty stores versus say, Tractor Supply.

Liberator may make some great products, be easy to order from, and are absolutely pioneers in regard to taking ordinary products and improving on them for sexual benefit/utility, but they are way overpriced IMHO.

While we did not venture upstairs to put the waterproof mattress cover to the test, we did test out the waterproof blanket we bought with a couple. Nothing got through, and it was a fraction of the price of the Liberator model. We laughed about it afterward. But the other female said she didn't want to soak our new couch. I told her it was okay and that the blanket she was laying on was waterproof. She had a puzzled look on her face and said "...it's waterproof??" I guess not everyone knows such things exist. lol

We've been on the Liberator blanket, and we want to buy one. It's a bit expensive, but it felt great on the skin when we were on it. We also own a couple of the Liberator pieces (ramps & wedges) that are a lot of fun - they make great products are a easy to order from.

We ended up getting both....waterproof blanket and mattress pad/cover. Thanks for the replies!

I already posted what I use and even without the Liberator throw, my dual mattress pad solution works no matter the volume of liquid, including from multiple women.

We use a cloth waterproof mattress pad over a plastic one for our parties. This protects the mattress and you don't get the crinkles.

We use mambe blankets with great success. They are comfortable, look like a regular fleece throw and are machine washable and dryable. They do crinkly but we don’t sleep on them. Between changing the sheets 2-3x every week.

Haven’t come across a water proof mattress cover that kept any real volume of liquid off the mattress.

The crinkly noise only occurs if you use a heavy duty plastic. But if you use a thin piece of plastic or other similar material, noise should be eliminated. It provides an extra barrier of protection against the mattress.

Molly is correct in that you can use multiple waterproof mattress covers and it should do the trick. Brand names i’m not certain of but don’t buy a $9.95 cover and expect it to do the job. We got ours from bed Bath and beyond and it is working great.

And also as Molly had pointed out regarding washing care. The tags on many of these waterproof pads will tell you not to wash in a top load machine. We take ours to a front load laundromat and dry on cool.

It started because I had previously tried the whole waterproof sheet, blanket, waterproof mattress cover and it made my bed the wrong kind of steamy, so I just stacked mattress covers. And it's not so much that I expect failure as that if there is a failure, there's a backup. Much cheaper than a new mattress. I also use a king size Liberator throe over the bottom sheet, because I don't actually love the mountain of laundry that occurs if someone hits my g-spot.

Hey Molly, just curious but why the multiple layers? Do these things fail if saturated enough? Good to know they don't crinkle and brand doesn't matter.
Thanks

I use two waterproof mattress covers, neither one crinkly. The one on the bottom came from a chain home store, the other is from Land's End.

I think for mattress protection, brand is less important than washing in warm or cold water and drying on low.

Thanks for the reply. So does brand matter? Also, are there ones that won't make a crinkling noise when crawling around/humping on them? We have plenty of disposable drop cloths but I'm pretty sure if we put one under our fitted sheet it'd be pretty noisy. This is why I'm curious if brand makes a difference. Thanks!

K is a squirter and we have educated ourselves through mistakes and experience.

A couple of suggestions: 1) Make sure that you buy a waterPROOF mattress cover and not a water resistant one. 2) take a bed size piece of vinyl or plastic, like you would use for a painting drop cloth, and put it directly on top of the mattress followed by a blanket and then the waterproof mattress cover.

That will keep your new mattress clean and pristine.

Wasn't sure if this was the forum this should go in...but we are looking for advice so.... We might be hosting this weekend or next. Just in case the gal is a squirter, we would like to have a waterproof mattress cover on our king bed and double futon. Do brands matter here quality/experience-wise? If so, which are the best to get? Thanks!
