Using kik is a bad idea

" The moment someone suggests you go on Kik, they want to trade naked photos primarily"

Yeah we havent had that all the time ... yeah sometimes its been pic collectors, but it is soooo much easier to communicate on kik or text vs trying to communicate here, which is like sending smoke signals.

"You can do all of that here. It is illogical and plain stupid to sign-up here and then go to KIK. Pictures work perfectly fine on this site. Messages work fine and are instant."

No, pics dont work fine, they have to be pics already in your profile correct? Kik and text is wayyyyyy better than trying to communicate here. Kik actually notifies us of a message, it's a great concept, so we can answer in a timely fashion. SLS has no notification system, yeah we will know we have a message if we keep logging in to look every 5 minutes.

I'm not here to debate nor argue, but our SLS messages show blank half the time. There's a start, fix that and then we will move to the next thing, like not getting a new notification until 30 minutes later........ then the next, and so on until reliability improves confidence.........

KIK has been VERY reliable in both meeting new people, chatting further with those we know and weeding out.

WayneC. I'm curious as to what brings on this animosity towards kik? Sls is in no way shape or form in any kind of competition with kik. One is good for one thing. The other is good for another. Nobody that is interested in the lifestyle will not join sls because of kik. Kik sucks for "MEETING" new people but is fantastic for instant communication and pic sharing. Sls is "FANTASTIC" for meeting new people but sucks for instant communication and pic sharing. That's not a bad thing. It's simply what you're good at or for. Kik compliments sls. Maybe embrace it a bit.

As I said previously. You don't take a dump truck to get groceries nor do you take your car to haul dirt.

A large amount of people that use this site also use kik. Their messaging system is just better. I can send any picture in my photo library on kik instantly, I don’t have to upload a picture and wait for approval. I am actually shocked that a representative from this site, a site people pay to use, chose to insult his customers, by calling them stupid for taking advantage of all options afforded to them.

I have used kik for many years while in the LS. Yes there are scammers, but you will find them in all ways of communications. With kIk, you do not have to use your personal number, or give out an email address to communicate. I actually was 1st introduced to the app by a couple that I met on another site. We chatted on there and then decided to share phone numbers. Like many things, it is personal preference, and I prefer not to give out my number unless I am absolutely sure of the person I am giving it to. Just my opinion on the app. Have fun and be safe!

I saw this guy one time buying lumber at Home Depot. Saw the same stupid asshole buying lumber at Lowe’s the following weekend.

Well, perhaps it works for you, but after almost 10 years in the lifestyle, our statistics are clear as sun: The majority of contacts who asked us to switch to kik to "further" get to know each other, turned out to be bogus, mainly a guy wanting to see naked pictures.

Moe, many use kik to exchange mugshots, proof of life pics, etc. Also, it allows all 4 people to be involved in a group chat. A quick non-sexcam vid chat helps confirm that pics are legit as well as the couple. It also helps check for initial chemistry. It saves a ton of time and potential frustration. Going old school with a phone number leaves you open to be scammed too many different ways. Kik has a decent vid chat capability as well as just voice calls. SLS has improved it's vid chat interface as well.

How does kik help confirm you as a couple unless you were camming (we don't) or voice talking (we use the phone)?

Hasn't been our experience at all. Usually, wanting to go on kik has meant a) they were a couple and wanted to confirm they were talking to another couple b) they wanted to start making plans.

I travel a lot, often to places where it’s difficult to get cell service. If I can get WiFi, which is almost ubiquitous in every country except the US, I can get Kik. Something about the Kik software makes it pretty fast even with weak internet connections.

I would love to be able to use SLS exclusively, but the site just doesn’t work well enough.
For example, when we meet a couple for the first time one thing we like to do Is to send them a selfie as we are leaving our home. They can see what we are wearing, etc. That makes it easier for them to spot us in a crowded restaurant or bar. That’s not an option on SLS.

Spring, TX, Us

Same here. We stay on SLS until we set a day and time to meet. We aren't pic traders and have enough on SLS already in Private folders to get through the pre-meet process. Everyone we've met was on SLS frequently and the messaging is close to instant - works fine for us. The day of or day before, we'll trade phone numbers so we can text in case someone's late or needs to bail at the last minute. We haven't had any issues or had to block a number.

Montpelier, OH, Us

I will agree. Kik vs text is a toss up. We have found that most people are reluctant to give out a cell number right away so we just use kik.

So far though we have never had a problem giving out our cell. (We've given it out dozens of times) i don't think we've ever even needed to block a number.

The moment someone suggests you go on Kik, they want to trade naked photos primarily, and expect your chances of meeting to drop from 25% to 5%. It's the best way to spot a fake. People who are serious about the lifestyle do not need to see photos of the inside of your anus to decide to meet you or not.

We do have a few friends on Kik but only after meeting in person. I don't seen much value for it over text messaging other than not giving up your phone number.

New_and_Naughty there is "name calling" and then there is calling someone a name to simply be hurtful and out of hatred. Some names by their very nature will get you banned regardless of the format. I'm not going into specifics but we all know the things we should not ever call others under any circumstances. Basically what Wayne is saying is that if it happens outside of the SLS sandbox there is nothing SLS can or will do about it. We think that is reasonable. In fact we think anyone with half a brain would think that is reasonable.

“ If you take your conversation there and the other person calls you a name or turns out to be a prostitute or tries to scam you, I cannot help you”

Ok, gotta call a timeout here. Did you really just say there is nothing you can do if somebody calls somebody else a name on kik? Just for my own sanity, we’re on a swingers site here, correct? You can fuck my wife while I fuck your wife in the ass, however, nobody is allowed to call names. I understand SLS would prefer everybody used their site for everything, more clicks means more advertising dollars, but isn’t there a thread on here that’s sole purpose Is to call names and insult? Cage fighting thread?

McD's & Taco Smell. Heh.

Which for some reason reminds me of an incident long ago while on a road trip, punchy from lack of sleep. Bleary eyed, I went through the Burger King drive through at about 1am and ordered a Big Mac for the road. Then proceeded to argue with the poor drive thru clerk because they wouldn't give me a Big Mac. Imagine my embarrassment.

Before you ask, no I wasn't drunk....

Morris, Alabama

Complaining to customer support here about something that happens on kik makes about as much sense as complaining to McDonald's about the tacos you got from Taco Bell.

“ We have not experienced any more or fewer fakes from kik vs. sls. It's JUST as bad here! Most of this unfortunately comes from the single males”

Actually, for me the worst thing about Kik is the single women. They are all 21 yrs old, very lonely, and can’t wait to hook up.

We don’t mind the single guys as long as we aren’t getting overwhelmed, which hasn’t been a problem.

If we ever get back to hosting parties, we’ll need to be able to communicate with up to thirty people quickly and at the same time. We’ll need to receive instant notification. We will need to share pictures, text, and video. And, we’ll need invitees to have the ability to communicate amongst themselves when we aren’t in the chat space.

If you want to take conversations to KIK, please understand that I cannot help you if something happens over there.

Most every day I receive a dozen or more complaints here about what happened over on KIK. I do not have a KIK account. I am not an employee of KIK. I cannot see anything that happens on KIK. If you take your conversation there and the other person calls you a name or turns out to be a prostitute or tries to scam you, I cannot help you. I have no idea if the people at KIK will do anything about those sorts of things, but if you keep your conversation here and then report it, I can see it and take action.

In direct response to the OP's post. NO... We have not experienced any more or fewer fakes from kik vs. sls. It's JUST as bad here! Most of this unfortunately comes from the single males. I have said it many times and will continue to say. Single males will be the demise of this site. Not so much as the site will shut down but rather the serious couples will just simply move on. In sls's defense. What the hell. It's a business. If single males keep sending money then hell ya sign em up. I myself know a few sls couples that haven't visited the site for months. (why?) Because it's becoming nothing but a site full of pic hunters and guys wanting sex chat. They'll promise you everything under the sun as long as you keep sending pics.

Kik is equally as bad. Several years ago my wife and I were part of a few kik groups. It was fun and we even managed several hookups. Anymore we are members of zero groups and simply use it as a communication device. (why?) because it is dominated by single males that are nothing but pic hunters and wanting sex chat.

As far as communication one on one, kik vs sls. Kik is the corvette and sls is the pinto. (for a multitude of reasons.)

Now don't get me wrong. I love sls. It's a wonderful site that i enjoy coming to. It just has it's place in the entire scheme. (you don't take a dump truck to the grocery store)

To GGMM's point, this site is too unreliable for "day of" meeting communications. We do not use kik, but would never consider meeting someone new without exchanging cell numbers and talking on the phone before anyway.

Phoenix, AZ, Us

SLS's messaging, when the site isn't spasming, is fine for ongoing desultory conversations. It's too unreliable for anything less relaxed, plus it doesn't send alerts, so it's pointless for conversations day of meeting. Plus, I don't really want to open SLS just to get a message. Kik is way easier.

Wayne,

We've had picture approvals take days, especially on the weekends. That's one of the reasons we don't use SLS for extended messaging.
