Using kik is a bad idea

Kik = BOT city.

I use it if I have to on a limited basis. I wish Telegram was more widely used. The interface is a lot better.

Just because someone uses kik doesn't mean they're swapping nudes. I don't even share nudes on this site! Kik, is nostly a back up when meeting up on case sls crashes or is slow. Which can be frequent.

The wife often does introductions on site, then moves conversations to kik or text (using an app that gives her a fake number to text with, since we’re not totally naive). We are aware of the risk of fakes, and they’re pretty easy to spot. She doesn’t just throw her pictures at every “cat-fisherman” who requests them.

We use KIK or other app for chatting, it's great for sharing videos.

I don't know, but three pics (clothed, no kids) disappeared and the gallery was public. So, settings may have been cleared /reset.

Definitely no more face pics for me. Not worth getting outted or running into a butthurt person who doesn't like rejection at a club. Nope. Fuck that!

Yesterday evening we had a rash of single male contacts out of the blue. We could not figure out why, so we just blocked single males, but there was clearly a change that triggered this that we did not know about. Is that related to what you are talking about?

Now my private pics were made public (now deleted) time to seriously re-evaluate using this site in general.

I actually like using Kik-it's a good way to chat more quickly and you can communicate without exchanging email or phone numbers until you've had a chance to chat some-that's when it's a great time to use a Google voice number. Sure there are people who are pic hunters, but you should use discretion when sharing your pics, no matter which platform or messenger you use. It is a good way to share pics and vids, and a great way to have a group chat with interested parties.

Magic, it does not work. Tried that already. We sent many tickets with screenshots to document the issues, the responses we got from customer support are:

1) Try again, it's fixed now.
2) Nobody else is having this issue.
3) Sent it to developers
4) Can't replicate the problem
5) Refresh screen and it should work

Point is, there is hardly ever a satisfactory answer and a real closure to an issue but you are welcome to try and see if you get different results.

I think SLS would do itself a lot of good alerting users to upcoming software releases and the bug fixes in them (release notes), just like all the apps on Google and Apple store do. Without that, even if the "developers" bust their buns developing a fix for us, if will go largely unnoticed if nobody says anything.

*I also missed meeting up with someone because the site was "down" and resorting to kik.
I don't use it often, or exhange pics. It's just for meet up communication.

Wayne has mentioned time and again, if we have an issue, create a ticket. Maybe we should? I know a lot of us either work around the common issues or just say "it is what it is" and ignore it. Maybe if the SLS tech dept knew how widespread the issues actually are, they'll work on it. If anything, they can no longer say "people don't complain, so obviously, it's not that big of an issue. It's just you, maybe it's just 'user error' "

So everyone... missing messages? Not getting messages? Other weird issues? Send a ticket.

Actually yes, Wayne did say that 10 days ago. He said taking a conversation from here to kik is a violation of site policy. He also said customers that use kik are illogical and stupid.

Why get your ass up in the air over people choosing to use a messaging option that is a thousand times better than the one offered here? We’re still paying our money to join here and meet people, that’s what we use SLS for, that’s what SLS is great for. SLS got our money, we meet other swingers and we move on from there. Why in the world anybody would take offense to people using a good messaging system to message people is beyond me.

2outdoorlovers if you ran a business that the customers only motivation to spend money was being allowed to communicate with each other you too would not allow people to openly "advertise" they are available on other methods of communication. No one is actually saying you cannot exchange cell numbers, Kik, or whatever but rather your initial communication has to be done through SLS. What has been said is you cannot advertise other methods of communication (cell number, Kik ID, etc) on your profile to get around having to pay to have that initial communication. If this site were 100% free I doubt that rule would be in place but the truth is who is going to run a site like this for free regardless of how much people complain.

BTW regarding the 404 error and other functionality issues. Just this weekend we and many others were having similar issues with Facebook. In fact since joining there it seems these issues crop up frequently Years ago a large multiplayer game did an update that when installed and ran deleted the boot(dot)int files from your hard drive. I think a lot of the issues seen here are a result of a large number of users on at the same time and the servers not being able to handle the load. The thing is unless the site brings in money for upgrades (it has been proven with lifetime memberships that influx of new cash is limited) it is what it is. We still think it is not a bad deal for the cost and since it has been around for a while it has become an ingrained part of clubs and parties with sign ups being done here for a head count of "serious" attendees. If nothing else the simple fact you pay to have a membership and have to go through the hoops to sign up filters out some of the fakes and flakes you would find through a "free" site.

Oh and I'm not saying this site is perfect and things could not be better but I am saying overall it works especially if you work within the limitations.

I agree they compliment each other! I'd rather communicate on kik then my cell phone. I don't give out/exchange pics in general, but I don't want people having my cell number.

Sls seems to have this hard on against kik that I've never quite figured out. Nobody, in my opinion would not join sls because of kik. Both have their place. Quite honestly kik makes sls better and vice-versa.

Like everyone else. We use sls for searching, browsing, and the initial msg or two. Then if it looks likely to proceed to more we move to a better platform for ongoing conversation.

To say that you can do everything on sls that you can do on kik or text is just plain WRONG. There are 3 VERY important things that would need changed to even begin to be able to claim that.

1 - you need to be able to receive and be notified that you have msg whether you are logged in or not.

2 - ability to instantly send any picture on your phone. Send selfies. Etc.

3 - ability to break up messages. (For example) often times we will start a convo as a foursome with the other couple. Usually that breaks up into one on one with my wife and the other guy. Me and the other girl. (To do that here would require 3 separate profiles)

So i say again. One compliments the other.

It seems we are in a "minority" in that we generally only communicate here and will not share pictures elsewhere. That said when it comes time to meet outside of the club we go to we do share our/my cell number with the understanding we get spotty reception where we are so it is to be used in case something happens and you are running late or not going to make it. I cannot begin to tell you how many times (swingers or not) people have been upset because they texted us and never got a reply. i have gotten texts hours or even a day after they have been sent. Extend this to Kik or whatever else people have an app for and use their phone and you will find I don't carry my phone around the house or in my yard because it does not work. I could hook up to wifi and use said apps but for me my desktop (on now) and land line phone work well enough and for swinging conversations there is here and day of meet cell phone.

BTW we are in communication outside of this site with folks we have met and gotten to know on Facebook including a group chat and a group. That said we all know the big party sign up is here although on Facebook you find out about more informal meetups and house parties. The thing is you cannot share adult content on Facebook even if a PM under their rules and you can do so here. We do agree with not every platform suits every need and moving between them works better than limiting yourself to just one.

The fact is that SLS is a business and if customers are going elsewhere to communicate it does in fact take business away because the biggest limitation for a Free Member is just that communication. SLS offers a reasonable monthly fee and an extremely reasonable lifetime membership. That will allow you to communicate here and in such a way that if you and the other member(s) want to take it elsewhere you can including sharing such info through a message sent on SLS. No one is stopping you from doing this when you become a paid member. In fact the only thing Wayne has said about other forms of communication is that they are not owned or operated by SLS so if something happens while using them they are not responsible and can not take any action. Of course they don't want you paid member or not to circumvent the incentive for a free member to become a paying member by allowing you to put outside communication information on your profile anyone can read but then they are running a business and not a charity. I think that is reasonable.

Magjoy, I actually get where the guy is coming from. Obviously more clicks means more advertising dollars. Lots of lifetime members, they’re already paid so they really don’t care what you think. I get it, they’re not getting more money out of lifetime members. But there are plenty of people, like myself, that just keep renewing every year, or even every month. Don’t ask me why, habit I guess. Why would I renew when the customer service guy called his customers stupid and admits that he doesn’t give a shit what they think. I’m actually dumbfounded that this is considered “customer service”. I can find out what’s going on at Saints & Sinners (after covid) on many other places. Why pay money to be insulted by “customer service”?

That said, after mass deletion of many conversations (and asking for only 1) and getting very little feedback, I really don't think this website will ever live up to it's potential. The owner isn't that interested.

Yes, many profiles mention not sharing or communicating over kik. But very few will say "you can message me on kik" I wonder the ratio on profiles of yay/nay on kik.

Wow! I mean really WOW!!! Asking because I honestly have no clue, do you own this site? If you do then I guess you run it like you said, as you choose. If not, does the owner know you just told paying customers that you don’t care what they think, you’re gonna do whatever you want and if they don’t like it they can take their business elsewhere?

We were like that for a while, then we got burned not being able to contact someone in a timely way because the SLS site itself was down. While we don't use KIK, we have since just exchanged cell numbers and/or email addresses so that we could still contact someone where potential play time was possible.
