Yep, that's a sample of what you'll find if you start a thread in Better Profiles asking for help. I know it's blunt, but it's well meant.

Your profile really does need work and you need photos. A good profile, attractive photos, and the ability to send grammatically correct and well written emails that show you've read the profiles of the people you're contacting will definitely help you meet people through this site. If you can't do those things, you'll have better luck going to local parties, meet and greets and clubs.

Easy? No, it's not. Banish that thought from your mind now. Unfortunately, it's a VERY common misconception that meeting people and getting laid on SLS or similar sites is easy. Especially amongst us single guys (yeah, I had that same notion for about a month after I got involved. I ain't no saint.)

As I've noted before in the fora, meeting people and making connections (or getting wild monkey sex) is just as difficult as it is in vanilla life. There are no shortcuts. If you're serious, plan on MONTHS of work networking, talking to folks etc before even meeting anyone. Seriously, months.

First thing, you should go to the Better Profiles section and read up for some tips on improving your profile (unfortunately, after the big FOSTA gotterdammerung, a lot of old threads with good advice have been whacked). Start up a thread looking for advice, and a lot of folks with lots of experience will chime in. But be sure to keep a thick skin, the advice tends to be rather..... blunt. But it's worth it.
