It totally is! Good catch. So, weirder than is actually normal even when the scale goes from really weird to are you actually kidding me weird. ;-)
Shaving, or not
Re:"weirder sense of humor than is actually normal"
I thought that was a pre-req for being a formum'er?
Hotwifes_Hubby, ncal is crazier than a sack of rabid weasels and unlikely to post anything worth reading even if he types nonstop from now until the Apocalypse. I'm sorry you can see his drivel (I'm considering offering him a bribe if he will just open his profile to single men for an afternoon so that all the forummers can block him), but maybe you can leave actually responding to him to those with a weirder sense of humor than is actually normal? ;-)
Hmmm, I missed it. Now I'm curious how one loses it in a "Shaving, of not" topic...lol
It has been very calm and peaceful in the forum lately. Calm before the storm or a kinder gentler forum?
HH,
Keep that up and you might just start a trend in these fora; civility and people apologizing when they're wrong.
I ask you...then where would we be??
BT
I apologize to all the NORMAL people about my lil outburst a few moments ago. I deleted it.
I am amazed that everyone is such a slave to the TV and media that they do everything to make themselves look as unattractive as possible because the media tells them its the in thing.
No wonder why everyone is fat, hairless and covered in tattoos, being so unattractive makes everyone miserable and they spend all the time spending money instead of fucking
Just what the TV and media want
I'm pretty sure that looking like an adolescent isn't the goal.
I'd say that most of us aren't fond of a mouthful of someone else's hair. I get weirded out by a single hair in my food at a restaurant, and ask for a new clean serving. I sure as heck don't want a mouthful someone's wet pubic hair. I'd tolerate it if it's my wife, but otherwise no thanks. And I don't think it's crazy to return the favor to the women. I had one encounter where the lady looked like Chewbacca down there. I took care of business, but wouldn't revisit it.
I'm sure, NCal, that the women you meet just adore your Austin Powers appeal. Good for you.
Neither of us go full-bald. She leaves the landing-strip, and I have what the esthetician calls 'the awning'. We both want there to be some hair for the visual appeal of adulthood but really enjoy how soft and smooth the rest is. Yes, the cost and time are a bit much, but we all have our individual 'frivolous' expenditures to keep ourselves sane... this is ours. It's our thing and we enjoy it. I had been shaving on the regular for about 15 years before this and had no issues with it. I decided to try as a surprise for her and partly in response to some ribbing about her first disaster... I'd stub a toe and cuss..."but you've never been waxed!" lop off a finger and wince... "still never been waxed!" sort of comments. Turned out she loved the look and feel. If that keeps her happy and interested in being in that particular area, who am I to deny her that joy?
Personally I think everyone is crazy in this country. the amount of time and money spent shaving all the hair off ones body so they look like a adolescent is insane.
Thank you for the info. I know a few women that do it but very few (if any) men.
So far, the trimmer option has worked well. It eliminates both the porcupine thing and a girl getting hair in her mouth. Of all of the options so far the Mrs actually prefers this. Not sure if other women see a large visual appeal in a waxed guy. Would be interesting to hear women weigh in on that.
As mentioned, I can also go the Nair route and it works OK, but it also doesn't last much longer than shaving, if any.
I'm old enough to remember when it was a rarity that women even shaved, much less waxed. Now it's rare to see one that doesn't. So long as a girl is well trimmed, there is a certain visual appeal in hair for me now because it's no longer the norm. Kind of like when shaving wasn't the norm and you saw you're first shaved one/s.
There's also an obvious difference in time/expense/pain. One waxing pays for the trimmer and I can do it on my back porch whenever, and unless I somehow nick myself, you'll not hear a peep out of me when I'm doing it ;-)
The first couple times it's not too different from shaving on the regrowth front. Keep up with it and it slows quite a bit. It also softens a lot after a few times, almost to an arm hair like feel.
We highly recommend trying it. Check your local y**p for reviews and SERIOUSLY select the highest rated around. Ours truly is awesome. Like I said before, wife's first experience elsewhere was disastrous. After a few visits with our current girl, she moved out of state. I was brave and went to someone else (that she'd trained)...did not go well. We stopped until she moved back 7 months later. Well worth the wait. She told us that nearly all of her clients did the same thing and are all back with her.
How long before the picky's come back?
Individual prices with our girl started at 55 for Mr and 60 for Mrs. (115+20 tip = 135). Since we have become a regular 2-fer for her, we are out the door for 110 (90+20 tip). We go about every 4-6 weeks depending on plans. Going tomorrow, looking forward to a good weekend!
Tujax: what is the cost for getting it done.
We both get waxed regularly. She did it many years ago as a treat and it went horribly wrong. Fast forward about 6-7 years, I decided to try it for her,,, not that bad. (I'm ok with pain) She loved it so I kept up with it. Eventually she saw that I wasn't having any issues and gave it a second try. 1-1/2 years later we are going together pretty much monthly.
Side note guys... If you want a truly awkward conversation; get to know your esthetician and carry on a perfectly vanilla conversation while they're handling your bits and bobs. Bonus points if you get the backside done and maintain mundane conversation.
Mayhem, I don't recall the first brand I used, but I've been using BumpStopper2 after shaving the patch above. I've never used it on the junk, being that soap and a razor in the shower works fine.
Waxing? OUCH!!! one thing that you body does with repeated pain over the long term is desensitize the area to pain. The more you ax the less sensitive your pussy will become.
Good for a man as he will stay hard longer.
My wife and a friend asked me if I could help them wax their legs. They could do everything except pull the strips.
All I can say is if one had sadist tendancies, this would be their dream job.
My electric trimmer can and has bit me without any sort of guard on it. Also, cutting them too short defeats the purpose because it makes me picky again.
In addition to playing with others I also of course play with the Mrs, One or 2 days after shaving and she has said it's like having sex with a porcupine. Both her and I like the trimmer method so far. It's a LOT easier and more comfortable and nobody is getting a mouthful of hair, which is the main purpose in doing it. Pretty low maintenance too because once a week is fine,
If I was going to shave daily AND use a new blade each time it would add about $100/mth for the blades I normally use for shaving. I do know there are cheaper alternatives but for just my face I can easily get a week out of a blade, so not as big a deal.
Mayhem, I'm not sure offhand. I'm at work right now, but I'll check when I get home.
I use the electric, with no guard every day, and shave the bits every day in the shower. No irritation. I think the bits are used to it now. Been like this for years, and even if we quit all lifestyle activities, I'll probably continue to groom this way. Looks good, feels better.
re:hwh
What was the name of the product?
In some cases we have had what I call Trifecta weekends where we played Fri , Sat, and Sun. Fri is fine, Sat, starting to become an issue and Sun is like, no way. I would literally rather go without sex than try to shave that 3rd day.
Shaving is a fad. its horrible the next day if you want sex with anyone. Major stubble and irritation during sex. We both love sex and will never shave as that means no sex for a week or so until the stubble gets long enough not to hurt during sex.
Shaving every day is impossible because of the skin irritations.
What I found to keep me from getting razor burn is this cream I found in the haircare/shaving aisle. It's in the section that caters to the shaving needs of African Americans. I use it after shaving when we hit the nude resort, and it kept me from looking like I had some crazy rash thing going on. The stubble will still come back the next day, then I just shave and rub in the cream again. Works great on me, hopefully others that read and try it get the same results.
I always see these profiles that say "shaved baby smooth and expect the same". For me, that "might" last one day. The next day it's prickly and, if I shave again the next day I usually wind up with shaving burn/rash. If I don't shave then it get's so picky it's uncomfortable for the Mrs if we play together, so I know it would suck for anyone I'm with.
From trial and error it seems what works the best for me is to take my electric trimmer and trim things as close as possible with the shortest attachment. If I use Coochy shaving cream as a conditioner after it makes the hair that's there a lot softer and nobody is choking on hair.
I have tried Nair bikini (made for sensitive areas) and that works, but I still have the stubble the next day or so and not sure I'd want to keep putting chemicals that can melt hair down there on a regular basis. Just curious what others do.
