We have done that as well. When attending a M & G or other event, we look at the sign-up list & reach out beforehand to see if couples that appear compatible may be interested in having a drink & chatting. Sort of breaks the ice rather than going in cold.
That is one way to do it. Because we've been stood up several times, we prefer hotel takeover parties or house parties with a bunch of people. We'll see the sign up list and preemptively open our pics to people we find interesting. If they write, great. And we always check in as early as possible. At those bigger events, if you don't click with a given couple, you can always spin in a new direction.
We've never been stood up. We always insist on a phone call before meeting a new couple to verify there is actually a female half & to get a sense that she is fully on board & not being pressured by the male half. If we get a lame excuse or crickets after we bring up the phone call, we usually block the profile.
We have had great luck meeting both singles and couples right up to the last year or so. It seems there are more and more fakes on any swinger web site anymore. We have wasted more time in the last year chatting and getting to know people only to have it go nowhere.

We will not face time but we get it.. it takes us a long time to get ready, shave, shower , hair, makeup, dress etc.. not doing that on face time..most times we are in workout clothes and we want that "Oh My" look for the first time.
What we do is look at is ones SLS profile, nice photos, a smile, wording, if we click we call and set a date and its that simple.. while meeting we decide to go home or hotel and almost 99% of time its a winning combination for us.. only had a handful over 25 plus years of idiots once at our home!

Voice verification has been around forever, but we have never had a need for it. Face time was not around when we started, but something similar was camming, which is not for us.
I state on my profile that I will expect them to FaceTime and voice verify if they message me if they don’t I block them.. so far I’ve gotten very few people message me and the ones that have are real and serious. Ladies and couples you might consider this if you’re tired of being jacked around
