Dressing for success?

FWIW - Check out women's clothing by Wish, as an example of what I'm talking about.

There are a TON of places online to buy club wear. One I have used is Light In The Box. They are a Chinese company so keep that in mind for sizing. They basically do not have a shirt that I could button the top button. Their largest men's shirt is 5x and is still only a 17.5" neck ;-)

For party clothes, we aren't really looking for top notch stuff because we know it's likely to wind up rolled in a ball in a corner somewhere. We obviously want it to fit and look nice (which it does) but not expecting it to last a long time.

There are also a TON of deals where I can buy multiple outfits (not including shoes) for well under $100. Once you get on one of these types of sites a lot of them advertise and link to other sites. I can remember some really cool (like Pyramid catalog type of stuff) for a fraction of the cost off of a link I found on KMart's website but cannot remember the name of it and couldn't find it just now when looking for it.

Agree with GGMM: We take days to plan and prepare, over and above the couple hours we take to get ready.

I can’t tell you how many times I have left couples scratching their heads because the female put in minimal effort. The husband sitting there mindfucking my wife while she is dressed to the nines, yet his wife has put forth minimal effort and left absolutely nothing to my imagination nor liking.

Women don’t get a bye with me. No pun intended.

Seems like there's been a mix of suggestions/experience with jeans and slacks. But I'm getting the impression that the golf shirts have no place in the LS. Other than dress shirts or button downs....what do guys wear to a club or date?

Also, we've bought from yandi for club-wear. Any other places that sell really hot/revealing outfits for her?

Thanks

I'm an efficient dresser. I do all the things, but spread them out over days. On the night of, it's just shower, etc., file my nails, put on makeup, run a straightener through my hair, and get dressed.

It used to take longer, but the results weren't any better, so now I give it an hour or less, not including the nap.

MandC - Considering a lot of the guys she plays with love the boots and want her to keep them on, Yeah, she can basically be naked in seconds ;-) She was blessed with perky breasts and is lucky enough to not need a bra. Most people think she is actually wearing one and are pleasantly surprised when she strips.

Along the lines of "Dress for success", she used to not wear a bra at work (Retail). Another woman complained so her boss had to say something, and commented that the person was probably jealous, which is how she knew it was a woman that complained ;-)

Mayhem,

If she dresses like that, then seconds may be longer than she needs. ;)

I do ALWAYS shave my face, but that's about 2 mins. Many (if not most) women like the smoothness of a freshly shaved face.

Nobody likes a porcupine down below either, but couchy shaving cream will make any short hairs soft, including my mustache.

Yes, parties are sans panties and bra. If it's warm enough, other than footwear, the Mrs may be wearing only 1 article of clothing. Less stuff to round up at the end of a night ;-)

Mayhem: You already said she doesn’t wear panties in another post, so that’s 30 minutes lol and since you actually DON’T use anything, such as a razor nor hair removal cream, ahem, other than a quick trim, there’s another 30 minutes. I think you already “shaved” a lot of time since your “streamlined”.

A lot of those that have “streamlined” themselves over the years is one of our pet peeves with M&Gs appearances. I have another reply written up about that saved on my home laptop, but I’m am actually debating on posting it since we have some very sensitive fora users and my filters don’t have catering modes.

MandC - How true ;-)

We have tried to get more efficient at dressing/party prep over the years. It does actually take us 3 hours of prep time but 2 hours of that is a nap ;-)

We are usually among the first to arrive and the last to leave, and that nap makes a HUGE difference come 1 - 2 am.

And yet, we can undress in just seconds..........

Palmerton, PA, Us

Her: File, and paint nails, 3 coats 30 min.
File, paint toes, 2 coats 30 min
Shower, shave, clean up, brush teeth 30 min
Dry, curl, straighten hair 30 min
Make up, eyes, brows, ect... 30
Get dressed, undress, try again 30 min.
Just about 3 hours, 2.5 if she rushes.

Him: Shower, Shave, Neaten hair 45 min
Get dressed, load go bag, get mixers, get gas ect.. 45 min

That assumes that it has been decided on what we are wearing. We (she) will bring 3 outfits to any party. Plus, she may have to dress as vanilla to get out of the house.

Mayhem, you have seen her. Her look and make up isn't over the top, but it does take time. Plus at our age, she need glasses to do her makeup. With the lighting at most parties, you usually can't tell the effort. But rarely will she show up for a party fresh out of the shower. She likes to dress (and prep) for success.

Unfortunately, neither of us have much time to do anything during the week. Saturday mornings can be tough. IDK when she has time to get her hair colored. Now, if she's travelling, like this week. Saturday flew by. She had to pack, passport, visa, everything in line. Mojos for 8pm. Get home at 3am, at Logan by 5pm. She lands at Logan 1pm Saturday.

Jeans and an untucked stylish button down are perfect attire. Be mindful of the texture of the shirt, as I’ve found something soft to the touch encourages the ladies to want to touch.

OK, I have to ask. What is it that takes 2.5 hrs to get ready?

A large part of the party prep seems to be hair related, whether grooming/washing/shaving. When we first started in the LS I was shaving down below every time. I've since found that a trim around the base is all that is needed at most because I constantly keep the hair down there very short using a trimmer and the shortest attachment. I don't have a lot of hair on my head to worry about and basically do the same.

It takes about a minute to trim my mustache, which I also always keep trimmed/short anyway. The Mrs has a short style hair cut and that is also pretty quick/easy. Likewise, I always keep my finger/toe nails well manicured and the Mrs has hers professionally done regularly.

We ALWAYS shower before any LS meeting, but between that and getting dressed, we can be ready in an hour tops, so having a hard time trying to figure out what we could even do that could take 2.5 hrs. If the Mrs does make-up at all it is very minimal and quick. We do have a 2 headed 4' x 6' shower and shower together, so that is a time savings.

I could freshly iron all of our clothes on top of everything else and it would still only be about an hour tops, and we usually know what we're wearing before we even shower.

A button down vs a tshirt or polo is about 10 seconds difference.

So now do I argue the point that the effort between the three is effortless or that the clothing doesn’t make the person?

For M&Gs and parties, 2-1/2 hours is about our speed as well.

While I liked my Garanimals as a kid in the seventies, striped polos are not stylish on an adult.

R&K, we SHOULD get together.

Although we only have 5 years at this, we learned quickly what to do, how to do it, and how to behave. We did learn a lot from other seasoned couples on here when we started. But we already had a great sex life, and we enjoy sex, plus she is a squirter. So the hardest thing for her was to own her look. She does own it now, and has for a while. The information we have gathered is incredible. I do tease her about writing a book. "A vanillas guide to swinging." It's not the Playboy mansion, so don't get disappointed.

Prepping.
Remember when you were vanilla,
Going out with vanilla freinds?

You get home jump in the shower, out of the house in 45 min.

Now, you need to shave, neaten up. She does her hair, her pussy, don't forget to help her with the "hood" and "rose bud", she shaves her legs, oils her breast, body glitter, does her face, nails.....

WTF. we start prepping 2.5 hours before we head to a party.

I now know why she is pissed if a guy is wearing jeans and a T shirt.

So good to be a guy.

Palmerton, PA, Us

You know, the bearded guys from TX had it right.

"The women go crazy, for a sharp dressed man."

No need for a suit, but look like you put some effort into your appearance.

eatme- Certainly an important perspective. Got that base covered.

“ The initial sense of attraction actually stems from olfactory/scent. However, right behind it is looks. And since looks are going to happen sooner than smell in the LS....it's important that we are operating at optimal conditions there.”

EXACTLY! That’s why a nice long pewp should be on everyone’s to do list before showering and leaving out for the evening. They don’t see your “who pewpd” look on your face and the ol’ “puckered button” is nice and clean for the olfactories.

RonKathy- Certainly not wanting to come off as arrogant, but we're both confident and good to go in the other areas you mentioned. It's really the fashion aspect that I need help with. The initial sense of attraction actually stems from olfactory/scent. However, right behind it is looks. And since looks are going to happen sooner than smell in the LS....it's important that we are operating at optimal conditions there. Thanks for the advice.

Mayhem- Fit and style are two things that were never on my radar. That's not to say I wore ripped/worn clothing....but so long as I could throw them on and go to work/out....how something fit, complimented me, looked was not much of a consideration. This morning my wife and I talked about going shopping this weekend for some better outfits, specifically geared toward LS interactions. So hopefully we can up my sexiness a bit when it comes to attire.

mayhem8Veteran

In many cases, it's more the fit and style than the type of clothing for us.

For women with a little belly, form-fitting clothes aren't likely to be the best choice. Something that accentuates the good parts (say, breasts) and otherwise looks nice tends to be a better choice.

Yes, there are some that could make a potato sack look sexy ;-)

I tend to like the look of good fitting jeans. I have multiple pairs of tailored dress pants I can wear and sometimes do, but I'm not a fan of them. Having a long torso doesn't help.

A lot depends on the venue. We have gone to black tie affairs where I will wear one of my tuxes, but for most LS venues a good pair of well fitting (not ripped/stained) jeans with a nice button down shirt is what I usually go for.

Bethlehem, PA, Us

We're all for putting effort into the LS....hell, we took the better part of 24hrs. just to prepare for the date and club we went to. Hygiene, diet, hair, shaving, attire, etc. Again, just want to maxi-mize sexiness here.

As for a manual on swinging, that should be required reading!!

Bethlehem, PA, Us

4_real_couple- To your point, I think that is my concern....looking sexy. Not as much worrying about etiquette and formality when it comes to dress. In the physique dept. we're both dieting, but we are who we are. But when it comes to dress, I want to maximize my potential of coming across hot than completely missing the mark because the outfit does nothing for me. I said "I" instead of "we" because my wife always nails it when it comes to fashion. Me?...not so much. I didn't care as much in the past but the LS is a completely different ballgame. Thanks!
