Just to throw my 10 cents. Cooled thermo therapy 15 years ago. Failed, developed 2 perianal abscesses with fistulas due to dirty surgical device inserted in rectum during procedure. Repaired, then rectal spasms due to hemorrhoids resulting from rectal surgeries. Surgery to remove hemorrhoids was next. Last year I had urolift which was supposed to resolve bph/peeing all the time. Failed, back on uroxatral and have cronic prostate infections every 2-3 months. Other than that, procedures went fine!
Comments on TURP procedure
To Blissful and many others here,
Thank you for sharing such helpful as well as exciting anecdotes and information.
Thoughtful comments on issues ranging from sexual intimacy to physical health make being on site well worth the relatively the small price for membership as well as the larger investment of time and energy.
Posts from couples such as Blissful more than make up for some of the rude, tone deaf and unhelpful comments on site at times.
Thank you.
Very much.
Had the HoLEP procedure done a year and half ago. Great outcome, pee like a 25 year old, no drugs, no getting up at night, no nerve damaged, erection like a 25 year old and seem to last longer than ever. The Only side effect is retrograde ejaculation but hey absolutely can live with that considering all the upside.
Retrograde ejaculation now after turb.
So no more cream pies for anyone to clean up.
After the Rezum procedure I had pain for about a week. Passed blood and chunks for about eight weeks. Had blood in ejaculation for ten weeks. It took a long time of recovery for me because I kept doing physical labor. Doctor is slowly weaning me off of Flowmax. Only get up once a month per night now when in the past I was getting up three and four times. Flow is much better and blades now fully empties. Seems to be working well for me, piss as if I were twenty years old again.
What were your side effects if you don’t mind sharing? How long was your recovery period. I’m seeing there are other less invasive procedures but many still consider TURP the gold standard.
I also had water vapor therapy (Rezum) and it did wonders for me.
Rookiesbutwilling, I had the Rezum procedure. The plumbing seems to be working better than before the procedure. It was less invasive than the Green Laser and sounds far less invasive than the Turp Procedure you are talking about.
Well penile implants has been discussed so wondering if any of you senior men have gone through the TURP procedure?? My urologist has strongly suggested I have it done just to improve my quality of life. If anyone that has had it would care to expound on the pros and cons? Have researched it enough to know there can be negative side effects as well the positive of improving the flow…
