Condoms are very effective in preventing the spread of VD in group sex, its simple the bugs can not live on latex.

The blood to blood diseases need both parties to be bleeding to transfer AIDS or Hep C. This is why AIDs is a disease of gay men and IV drug uses and a few straight couples that do a lot of anal sex.

Hep C is passed when sharing a straw when snorting coke because the nose bleeds. A friend who was a studio musician got Hep C this way and died from it. Also from IV drug use.

I have been doing group sex for almost thrifty years now and have never got a thing. With the old fashion private groups everyone was screen and no one used a condom. Today with a condom never a problem.

Most encounters involve unprotected oral and digital (finger) sex and almost always involves switching back and forth from partner to partner before you "glove up" for actual intercourse. If there's any bacterial or viral contagion to be spread it is possible it's already happened before condoms are even introduced.

I'm not suggesting that you should say screw it and go without protection but I believe you are far better served picking your play partners carefully then counting on condoms to save the day. Unfortunately many people who are infected show no signs or symptoms and can be ignorant that they are infecting others. Unless you demand proof via recent STD testing then you are just rolling the dice.

Blood borne contagions like HIV and hepatitis are of course more effectively prevented by condom use but in couples with straight males who aren't iv drug users, the chances those threats are present is minuscule. Again, I'm not suggesting throwing caution to the wind but I think it' s important to recognize reality when you engage in non monogamous sex with others.
