Where's Hunter?

The fact that the Right has been silent on the constitutionality of both Hunter Biden trials is telling. Income taxes and restrictions on firearms sales are both issues that are near and dear to the far Right in America. They all say that "shall not be infringed" is very clear, and that the US government doesn't have the right to institute income taxes. Hell, Mike right here on this forum says he won't pay federal income taxes, because they're unconstitutional. But they're still crowing over Hunter's conviction, because "blah, blah, blah Biden crime family."

If they had any integrity, they'd be demanding that Hunter's conviction be overturned by SCOTUS.

"Hunter has lost my vote as well"

But, don't rule him out just because of his felony.

He's still eligible to hold ANY political position in the nation. The Right have confirmed that with their presidential nominee.

Hell, he should still be eligible to be a teacher or police officer.

The “…shall not be infringed.” crowd sure is quiet today.

Agreed.

But I do think it's funny that the same people who told us a week ago that our country is a "banana republic" and our justice system is corrupt are celebrating Hunter Biden being convicted.

I wonder if they think this will reflect badly on Biden, because I'm not sure it will. Every family has a black sheep. If your family doesn't, you're the black sheep. The fact that Biden refuses to shut down Hunter's prosecutions, the way Trump would if it was Don Jr. or Eric, reflects well on him. I think it's relatable in a way that nothing about Trump can ever be. Very few if any of us have done shady things to cover up having sex with a porn star, but a lot of us have had someone in our family with addiction or mental health issues.

Lock him up.

Felons should serve their sentences whether their name is Biden or Trump, right?

Phoenix, AZ, Us

Yeah, I'm sorry. I could never vote for a convicted felon, so if Hunter Biden runs he'll have to win without my vote.

My sentiments exactly.

I'm not voting for a felon, with no knowledge of politics or political experience.

Not voting for Hunter either. I just can't vote for a felon and then say I'm for Law and Order.

From what I've heard, Hunter probably was guilty. He was addicted. He marked the box that said he wasn't.

I have decided I will no longer support Hunter Biden's political career. LOL.

I don't care who he is, who is father is. There was a trial, and he was found guilty. I'm not gonna scream it was rigged. Whatever sentence he gets, won't affect me.

Same for Hunter Biden. Exact same words.

Look , out of 1000 times this is a crime I would bet maybe one would go to jail . His attorney Abby Lowell and Mr Biden’s DOJ probably screwed up a year ago when he tried to get the sweetheart deal . Hunter could have pled guilty and got probation. He will still get probation. Suspended sentence . But proving the laptop from hell was real is damning to our country . There is information on that laptop that Mr Biden lied when he said he did not get involved in his son’s business . He needs to step down now and let the country mend . Otherwise it is going to get real bad. . …….This may be the silver spike to get rid of Mr Biden.

“It's probably all orchestrated, they need to show that justice has been served, I doubt he will serve one day in prison.”

How much time should he spend? Which are bases on sentencing guidelines and his offender status. Same as other convicted felons in the same boat. No?

Keeping to the thread title, Hunter Biden was charged, tried, and convicted of a felony. He lied on an application to possess a firearm. He has the right to appeal, but it seems more likely that he will express remorse, highlight what has happened in his life since, and accept whatever sentence is given. His father has said that he will not use his power to affect that process. We are not fans of felons. We will see how the judge weighs all of this.

But Trump's trial was real. LOL.

Richards, TX

Oh he won’t serve time . I now believe the cocaine in the Whitehouse was Biden’s . I feel for them for the addiction problem . Addiction to anything is a hideous sickness. ..I just don’t like all the lies that led up to this . I don’t like him giving the crack to other people. ……………………………..

This will all be a setup when they sentence Trump . Be careful what you’re happy about. Remember this , you will hear this over and over. ( No one is above the law)

You mean he's effectively saying: "Please sir, may I have another?"

As opposed to "What a corrupt justice system and evil/lying, poopy pants judge and prosecution team."

Hunter's been adjudicated guilty of multiple federal felonies but...

...he still has an upcoming court date for federal misdemeanor charges.

It's kind of interesting to note that he was offered a plea deal that would have dropped the felony charges- he would have only agreed to a plea of guilty to misdemeanor charges and accept the penalty for those.

Yep, he had the chance to accept a misdemeanor conviction for the upcoming misdemeanor case- which would have been less than a felony penalty. Now he has the potential for adding misdemeanor penalties on top of felony penalties (and having a felony on his record).

If he's adjudicated guilty in his upcoming misdemeanor trial, the sentence for the felony charges will have an effect on any penalties for the misdemeanor conviction. Usually that means getting a significantly harsher sentence than what would normally be applied.

Shoulda took what was revealed behind door number 1 than gamble on what's behind doors #2 and #3.

“ Guilty of all counts.”

So the system which was corrupt last month is now all fixed?

Richards, TX

You know I feel for him being an addict . But when his brother’s wife said he gave her drugs and got her addicted .
It’s a hard one for me . Cocaine or cocaine base is not legal . I hope him and his family get right with god.
