"True. Dems don't know how to play the hardball game. They're inherently soft."

No. It would be a straight-up dick move.

Remember when the Repubs held proceedings, motions, etc, and didn't invite Dems?

Don't do the same dick moves. Be the grown-ups, bigger of the two parties.

There's other times and ways to twist the knife, but now's not the time.
Especially after 6 weeks of this bullshit since the election.

“ So no repercussions at all ?”

Yup. Move on. By going after these individuals you’re adding fuel to their fire. Next you’ll have an even bigger asshole. Imagine the outrage a candidate could run on. That’s how we ended up with Trump.

So no repercussions at all ?

Just "thank your sir, may I have another" and pretend it didn't happen ?

What are they going to gain? More bad blood. A replacement that is even more rabid then what they’ve just gotten rid of. Sometimes it’s best to know what you’re dealing with.

“ But if these people are not censured in some way, they will just continue to act out in ways that are not conducive to democracy.”

I do not disagree with you. But. now is not the time. Time to mend some broken fences. Time to learn we can achieve more together than we can divided. I know this is rose colored glasses I’m looking through. The Dems are not done with Trump. I don’t think they’ll be going after him personally. There will be investigations. I think a lot of fringe supporters (not the Clydes) are going to be shocked at what has happened over the last four years. Legislators need to work together to insure it does not happen again.

True. Dems don't know how to play the hardball game. They're inherently soft.

If the roles were reversed. There would be no question the Reps would bring charges, and bringing the hardest hardball you could imagine.

Their actions are definitely up for discussion relative to Section III of the 14th Amendment.

They deserve some sort of censure IMHO. I doubt that the Democratic leadership will play hardball, though.

Just to be clear, I am not advocating any particular position on the matter.

But if these people are not censured in some way, they will just continue to act out in ways that are not conducive to democracy.

One, "Time to get back to business." YES, TRUMP STYLE OF BUSINESS FOR OUR COUNTRY. SNIFFER STYLE, CIVIL WAR.

Irondequoit, NY, Us

Time to move on. It’s theatric not to seat the Representatives. The Democrats have enough votes to secure the outcome. Why inflict pain. Remember what goes atriums in DC comes around. Time to get back to business.

In keeping with the Thoughts are of the thread.

There is a Twitter debate going on about seating the 126 Representatives that supported the Texas lawsuit.

Many feel that they were seditious, and should not be seated.

Others think they were doing the patriotic thing...

Thoughts?

It’s over Clyde. It’s over. It actually never was anything. Just dramatics from Dear Leader and his lackeys. You’ve been taken for a ride. Don’t worry. You’re not alone.

There will be some more dramatics before 1/20-21. But all it amounts up to is dramatics. Keep the followers in check. Give them a little warm feeling.

William Barr, the Attorney General appointed by Trump, maintains there was no evidence of widespread voter voter fraud that would overturn the election.

That he has seen !

There are still pending lawsuits that should be going to SCOTUS

FROM A FRIEND, A LAWYER: Stupid Repugnicans! You are correct. Article III states that the court must accept suits between states. They should have accepted the case.
If the Court challenged the “standing” of Texas to bring the suite, why don’t the Repugnicans IMMEDIATELY get a 100,000 signatures of residents of Pennsylvania and bring a class action of aggrieved citizens.

I have been reading the news in Russia Today (RT) and it is very enlightening.

Facts and Thoughts:

William Barr, the Attorney General appointed by Trump, maintains there was no evidence of widespread voter voter fraud that would overturn the election.

Trump says that the Supreme Court showed “No wisdom No courage” in its decision not to take up the case filed by Attorney General. Trump appointed two of those justices: Kavanaugh and Barrett and both voted not to take up the case.

Trump chortles that he won more votes than any sitting president ever (74 million) as If that point has more significance than the fact that Joe Biden received nearly 7 million more (84 million), the most of any presidential candidate. Here’s a fact to put his claim into perspective: Trump is notorious for keeping inaccurate, untruthful golf scores and falsely claiming that he won golf tournaments he did not.

The law suit filed by the Attorney General of Texas and supported by 106 GOP Representatives in Congress betrays the principle of states rights that has been a cornerstone of GOP ideology since the 1960s (and that Texas went to war to defend in 1861 in order to defend slavery).
16 other GOP attorney generals signed on to the case

Imagine how the AG of Texas Paxton would have responded to a suit filed to the Supreme Court by New York State or Massachusetts or California challenging the election laws and elections results in Texas in 2016 and supported by Hillary Clinton

Not mentioned by Republican leaders The national debt has gone up 37% under Trump. The GOP was once committed to reducing the national debt, but it supported the tax law by Trump that massively increased the debt.

25,000 statements by Trump have been fact checked as false, making him the most mendacious president ever by this way of counting lying and falsehoods by presidents.

My prediction: Trump will be ranked by historians as one of the two or three worst presidents in American history.

I am curious however to hear Trump lovers explain in one or two words what they love most about Trump. Or why do you have an emotional crush on him?

Interesting to revisit the first ("index") post in this thread. Time to pack up, wind up, and close up 2020, and with it the last four years of what has masqueraded as leadership at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. America needs to mask up and move on.

I thought the Supreme Court MUST hear the case of one state suing another state. If the Plaintiff state doesn't get a hearing then their only option is to go to WAR against the Defendant state. If the Confederacy had a chance to sue the Federal government and northern states. Had a "trial" before the Supreme Court and decision of the south grievances. Then maybe there would not have been a civil war.
I can't imagine how much CASH MONEY is being passed around to get this behavior. Even $BILLIONS spread around, the Bolsheviks will get it all back, plus many $BILLIONS more.
Do these R I N O's, ET AL, ETC. think their future family generations will be treated differently than the rest of us U S A citizens? NO, they won't.

Clyde some advice let people think your stupid don't type stuff to make them know your stupid

Sacramento, CA, Us

"Antifa, aren't those the people who burn buildings?"

No, they're not.

"Antifa, aren't those the people who tear down statues such as George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln among others?"

No, they're not.

"Antifa, aren't those the people who burn American flags?"

No, they're not.

Do you think that doing so signifies hating America? More specifically: do you think that is illegal to do so? Compared to a "patriotic" MAGA rally where people wear flag hats, shorts, shirts, socks and so on?

"I don't now why I'm wasting my time typing this because some far left Liberal with a twisted ideology will have to have the last word."

Pro-tip: if you hate being called on being wrong all the time, try not being wrong all the time.
