Sar , do you understand what fracking is . The product in Frac fluid Guar . A plant from India . It is used to hold the perforations open so they can Frac with water and sand . This is done way down underground way below any water supply . Believe me 36 year in the O&G business you are being lied to . Most jobs in the PA. Area don’t even use Frac fluid just pump sand. .Its called a slick water job. , destroys pumps but no chemicals.

It is awful what bull comes out on the O&G business . Say they were using some awful chemicals guess what these job are way underground and on top of that the jobs are all cemented. That means you have a steel drill casing then a cement casing . The different way you mix guar with water determines how it sets up . Guar is used in all processed foods . It is in whip creme watch it expand.
Now if a Frac company does an acid job , this is a work over process to an old well to clean casing scale . This acid could be harmful but again you have the cement job to prevent release .
These guys are making money from foolishness . It is on the net Halliburton CEO and his son drank Frac fluid.
What you are hearing is exactly what you say you are fighting against . Saudi lobbyist who want to stop the American O&G business.

Fracking kept the US from going into a depression? SERIOUSLY? That one thing. I think you need to look at what the Fed and congress did. I am not a big fan of Jr., but when he gave the speech about having to bail out, I agreed with him. The credit markets were frozen.

Fracking using sand and water? ARE YOU SERIOUS? It uses quite a few chemicals to break open the shale. Fracking is not a god send to get to the oil. Fracking is going sideways to get to the oil. They could get to the oil before, but the issue may have been the land above it to get to it.

Now, are they good paying jobs? Yes they are. And this is not to be too douchey, but so is a hitman. Just because a job pays a high wage doesn't mean what it does is correct. My wife has been offered a job running an oil companies books. They frack. She is pretty sure that she will say no. But . . . like any other human who works for a w2, when the number gets too high, she will probably convert to yes.
