Obamagate

“My statement was factual because it states “unauthorized” and the incoming administration is authorized to do so by law.

Please show me the law that give an incoming administration any power until the inauguration.

So again, it is your opinion.

Onehell.....” It would be your opinion also then No?”

No, it wouldn’t. It isn’t my opinion that the Logan act refers the “U.S. citizens”, that was your opinion because you misquoted the statute. My statement was factual because it states “unauthorized” and the incoming administration is authorized to do so by law.

"AZ...... As to your first point, there was an investigation."

Right. And THAT is Obamagate. Everything that happened after starting the investigation is after Obama was gone.

It would be your opinion also then No?

What makes your statement factual and mine opinion?

AZ...... As to your first point, there was an investigation.

He was under oath huh? Which time? When he told the truth or when he agreed to the FBI's quoting him as making a false statement?

He acts like a petulant child in every case...

"But it doesn't rise to the level of being illegal."

1) How do we know if what was being done was illegal, without investigation? Accusations were made. You investigate. That investigation seems to the "Obamagate". How dare you investigate suspected crime!

2) Lying under oath is a crime. I said that about Clinton impeachment, and I say it in Flynn case (and even Martha Stewart)... because I am not a sheeple buying and repeating the false narrative of one side of the political divide.

“ But it doesn't rise to the level of being illegal.”

In my opinion, it doesn’t rise to the level of being illegal.

There I fixed that for you.

TBR....."In the latest example of Trump being a 4 year old, he is refusing to unveil Obamas official portrait.
What a petty, sad, sorry little man..."

I would agree with you on this point. His opinion of Obama should have no bearing on respecting the office of a past president. Given the hatred of those on the left of Trump, could he possibly expect some of the same in the future, sure. But they are supposed to be adults. He's acting like a petulant child in this case.

Erotica, Okay I will change it to "He who has not COMMITED A CRIME may cast the first stone". That includes everyone.

onehell......" The Logan Act states that no American citizen can negotiate with foreign governments that have a dispute with the United Stares."

I find it suspect that you felt the need to leave out a specific word. The statute actually reads "UNAUTHORIZED American citizen". Because of the turnover rate of many of our government officials, they get considerable latitude during the transition period to aid in a smooth passing of powers. When administrations have the same goals, this is less of an issue. However, when an incoming administration has differing goals, there is more contention. But it doesn't rise to the level of being illegal.

Irondequoit, NY, Us

Mario, let me dummy it down for you. The Logan Act states that no American citizen can negotiate with foreign governments that have a dispute with the United Stares.

So again. Just because Gen. Flynn was part of a new incoming Administration. It does not give him the privilege of negotiating with a foreign government as you asserted in previous posts.

It is completely different than your comparison of an in coming President receiving security briefings.

What would I tell you at this point?

mario609Veteran

onehell.... You might want to read the Logan Act again. It does not mention anything about an "incoming administration", and for good reason.

Irondequoit, NY, Us

“The charges were tossed, illegal investigation, quit whining.

Which charges?

Glendale, AZ, Us

"quit whining."

I believe it is Trump and Faux news that are whining about the biggest political crime in history.....

So, what's the crime? "Oh you know...." No, we don't fucking know.

The crime is the Obama administration attempting to investigate crime by the men of questionable integrity that the orange buffoon surrounded himself with.

If Democrats were as brain dead as the Republican base we would be chanting "lock them up" instead of "$15 minimum wage, Medicare for All, free college tuition, tax the rich to pay for it".

“ Only two people have ever been indicted under the Logan act with no convictions.

Does not change the fact that the law exists. It is illegal for an incoming administration to have dealing with a foreign government. So you asserting that he was merely doing his job as a member of the new administration is not correct. Simple.

I ain't living, running, promoting a platform of religion. So it doesn't matter to me.

I promote that religion is bullshit and a way for the smart and powerful to keep the masses aligned.

@2

Oh mighty wise one. Please enlighten me. Please tell me the made-up shit that ___ uses to constantly attack?

I am telling you that this is the HISTORY of the republican party since McCarthy. And who was the architect? Roy Cohn.

The republicans have capitalized on FUD. They stole it from the Bible to control the masses. Some see through the bullshit, others buy it. That's why there is a fox audience.

I know you claim that you are not a 'American Christain.' But let's have some with that. Let's look at our President. How many of the 7 deadly sins has this man broken?

Lust - Yeah he has done that.

Gluttony - ROFL - big time.

Greed - ROFL - big time.

Sloth - Yeah.

Wrath - I'll SUE YOU! ROFL.

Envy - ROFL - again, yeah.

Pride - OMG - I know more about . . . yeah, another one.

So this person is 7 for 7 in the 7 deadly sins. ROFL. And again . . . american christains are fucking hypocrites.

Will Trump ever define Obamagate?

Maybe we get more insight at his next rally?

Glendale, AZ, Us

8inch, what crime would they be charged with? Doing their job? Directing the DoJ to investigate reported crime?

I mean, I get it that Trump doesn't think the president should do his job...At least, he clearly doesn't. What me? Responsible? I don't take responsibility at all! ...but that doesn't mean it is a crime when other presidents DID do the job!

Glendale, AZ, Us

I didn't pay much attention to Trump before birtherism. Just a rich dude that made most of his money putting his name on stuff other people did and a lot of success through failure stuff.

Even during the 8 years of Obama, I didn't pay much attention as he spent most of his time tweeting about how horrid Obama is.

Trump, when announcing his candidacy for president, rode down an escalator to make declarations like Mexico sends us its murderer and rapists... and I suppose a couple are okay (I guess suddenly remembering he employs a bunch). We're going to build a wall and deport them all. Not to mention banning Muslims. Putting queers back into the closet.

Now, it makes his obsession with Obama understandable. It makes his hatred of everything Obama did.

Trump is just another ignorant, xenophobic, homophobic (well, that is probably his least phobic, but he's willing to play one to get the evangelical vote) grumpy old Boomer that thinks he as a clue, but if blinded by his Euro-centric white superiority complex.

His whole Charlottesville "good guys on both sides" comments, as one side is matching for white supremacy while the other is counter demonstrating for racial equality, is just icing on the cake.

It is pretty obvious to any that aren't flaming racists, that Trump is a flaming racist. Why did we notice when he ran for president? Because that is when it became relevant.
