Red waves are like red tides; toxic invasions that kill useful organisms and set back the ecosystem.

What happened to when I began voting one day.. now in Ga we have weeks, weekends, and its crazy way to many days for things to happen!
Definitely needs to be reined in by BOTH parties.. But Dems have found a way to beat the system.. we are a laughing joke !

If the democrats have a solid vote lead in the cities/metro areas, the republicans who occupy most of the area of the nation will almost never be able to out-vote them. If you have a ad budget and 10000 volunteers, it's much easier to canvas a few key counties than statewide.

Unless the structure of the voting system changes, the republicans can count on NEVER seeing a major victory again.

This is bad, because when you have a big block of people together who begin to feel that they NEVER have a voice, and they are suffering under taxation without representation, things get unstable and ugly.

Well if she left the country, her husband is probably going to be in the news again .

Heard Nancy left the country on vacation …..that is a real loser.

Looks like a red wave in the House of rep. Republicans now control the house.

I’ve always said that the biggest difference between education and intelligence is that you can only buy one of them.

That said, it does take some education to do math and the percentages given in the article EA quoted seemed to indicate a lack thereof. lol

"College educated does not equal = SMART"

I'm gonna have to agree with that. I am around people with advanced degrees all day every day.

Some of them are absolutely brilliant, others are absolutely clueless.

A lot of higher education is more about persistence than intelligence...

“There is one line that I am confused about. That poll had a question: View of Trump. It showed republicans being 95% favorable and 20% unfavorable. Can someone explain how you do that?”

If it was a gop poll, you already answered your own question. lol

“Democrats are college educated and republicans are not.”

That was an interesting thing by Fox. They really know how to not be accurate with data at all.

Waters was quoting a CNN exit poll for HOUSE elections. So I went and looked at the fucking data. cnn. com/election/2022/exit-polls/national-results/house/0

They may not want to even get women married.

Married women with children were 51% and married women without children were 55%

The only thing that was the HUGE fucking DUH on that poll is that republicans do well with WHITE people. White men 63%R, White Women 53%R.

And then look at the income basis. The 50k and up income was 52% R.

Democrats are college educated and republicans are not.

Well there is the line that should scare the living shit out of Republicans. STOP educating people, they will not vote for us!

There is one line that I am confused about. That poll had a question: View of Trump. It showed republicans being 95% favorable and 20% unfavorable. Can someone explain how you do that?

Responding to nationwide exit polls that showed single women voted 68% for democrats vs just 31% for republicans, faux news host Jesse Watters had this solution.

"Also, single women are breaking for Democrats by 30 points. And this makes sense when you think about how Democrat policies are designed to keep women single. But once women get married, they vote Republican. Married women, married men go for Republicans by double digits. But single women and voters under 40 have been captured by Democrats. So, we need these ladies to get married. And it's time to fall in love and just settle down. Guys, go put a ring on it."

Has a Handmaid's Tale "marry off the women folk so their husbands can tell them how to vote" kind of ring, doesn't it?

I agree ea, the gop has chosen not just to ignore younger voters, but to actively campaign on issues that are the polar opposite of what young voters believe. Then they blame the young voters for not just going along for the ride.

I truly hope it is a wake-up call for the gop and they can finally move on from the party of hate and divisiveness that trump embodied.

There was a photo that was taken that I think summarized the whole issue with the GOP. It is the photo of Paul Ryan, when he became speaker and the selfie with the interns.

What do the youth in South Florida see? They do not see 100 white people by themselves.

What do the youth in NYC, LA, Houston, Portland, Seattle, ANY SEC area see? They do not see that ivory snow white group.

The youth see diverse people. There are about 20 million students in colleges today. Most are diverse in their population. I recently did work for one, a religious school, that is not diverse, but they have 1300 students. The schools with the highest student count, well the top 10 schools have about 5% of the total students enrolled in colleges. Interestingly, 3 of them are in Florida!

So when students see a party that excludes people that they know, they start asking, WTF is wrong with them?

The GOP has boxed themselves in as the party that hates LGQBT people.

The GOP has boxed themselves in as the party that hates immigrants.

The GOP has boxed themselves in as the party that hates public education.

The GOP has boxed themselves in as the party that just wants to give tax cuts.

The GOP has boxed themselves in as the party that wants to tear things down.

These college students are being taught not to destroy but to create. There is a reason why they are not joining the GOP.

If the GOP wants to win again, I think they need to do the following:

Turn off the hate. Put together a bill that will fix immigration. Put out solutions to drive costs down for higher education. Put out solutions that help individuals instead of the donor class.

Arizona, a state that is pretty conservative, just elected a governor who barely campaigned. Would NEVER debate. A person when she talks, seems to be afraid of the camera and microphone. That should tell you that people are not buying the message or the brand.

The GOP needs to figure out how to get the voters in the major population areas. The democrats need to figure out how to get the rural voters.

GOP has nothing to offer to GenZ..zilch..

“Most on the right want to point to student debt relief as the reason for young voter turnout and voting preference but exit polls show abortion and climate change were top of mind.”

Majority of people under thirty are not worried about student loan debt (At this time). It becomes a much larger factor when they settle down, get married, look to buy a house, think of starting a family. Right now they’re more concerned about the next weekend. And what parties they’re going to.

New Orleans, LA, Us

"The GenZ never mattered to start with"

In hindsight, that is what the gop will realize doomed their red wave. They ignored gen z and millenials because, in the past, they didn't have enough votes to overcome the "old white guy" base. This year saw a good turnout of voters under 30 but most importantly, they voted primarily blue.

Most on the right want to point to student debt relief as the reason for young voter turnout and voting preference but exit polls show abortion and climate change were top of mind.

As a former registered republican, I believe the gop has some soul-searching to do and not just to find a way to cater to younger voters but to actually put together an agenda that engages ALL voters other than "own the libs".
