If the Dems take back The House next year. I will be shocked if the y do not attempt to impeach him again. Let’s face it. It is part of our political landscape now. Republicans ran the 2022 midterm with promises of impeachment. It got out their base. Throw in a shitty economy and bam they took the independent vote. 2026 is a repeat.
Will the Dems be successful in impeaching him? That all depends on how they go about it. If they follow the playbook of Comey and Jordan? They will fail miserably. They never had the goods and could not prove their allegations. They couldn’t even get their own party to vote for impeachment. They couldn’t even get a vote to the floor.
If they have their evidence and proof. They will no doubt have enough votes to impeach.
The difference this time is what happens in the Senate. Mitch won’t be able to save him again. Not sure if their in another McConnell emerging in the caucus. Trump has much less staying g power at this point of his political career. Both time wise and impactful legislation. Members of the party are already looking past Trump. He will be a lame duck if they loose The House.
I think it will be interesting to see how Trump handles the campaign trail next year. Does he take a back seat? Does he tie himself to candidates? Will those candidate want to be tied to him? How will they fare if they do?
He knows exactly what is in store for him, and his family if the Dems take back control. I doubt he will be on the sideline letting it happen. He may be putting his own nails in his coffin.
I tend to mostly agree, for now. For this to happen would require enough evidence to erode his base, as was the case with Nixon. Just because the resolution sees the light of day, doesn't mean it will end in impeachment.
Unless there was concrete evidence (not innuendo, speculation, "where there's smoke..." BS, etc) of criminal acts personally on his part, it will look like the last two impeachments and end the same way...
...Trump will still be in office and it will rally his base to him and (given that it would be entirely political BS), it would sway even more independents to him.
If the Dems are smart (and they're not) they'd leave impeachment talk to their nutjob wing and pay it no mind.
Old thread, but we might see more on this after the 2026 midterms if the Dems regain the house majority, though I still doubt this will gain traction. In order for that to happen, a number of republicans would have to openly oppose him and not so sure that would ever happen.
RonKathy , buy Tesla . I have and will continue to . I have a Cybertruck on reserve my number is 445000 . Several years out but I will wait. Consider all Ford F trucks last year sold over one million Tesla will rock . Hell Elon owns most all battery mfg.
Sometimes the days after are more comical than the days preceding. Pick up any newspaper, go to any political news site and you will see the glowing...yes glowing comments from the Left about Mitt Romney. Truth to Power. Political Courage. A model for Democracy. The comments come from Political Pundits and perhaps more comical Hollywood Celebrities.
History being the absolute bitch it is, now go back and compare the Romney comments from his Presidential run failure to Barack Obama. Back then Mitt was roundly criticized for working for Bane Capital, the king of outsourcing. Such a one percenter that he installed an elevator in his house for his car. And who can forget the PETA scandal when Mitt put his dog in a car carrier on the roof of his car. GASP the headlines said.....this man is not trustworthy, we can't trust this man with our Democracy!!! Mitt must be stopped!!!
Moral to the story? Any port in a political storm when ORANGE MAN BAD
LOL so that was fun. So over the approximately 70 days of the Impeachment Adventure what do we know? 1) The poor remain poor 2) The rich are getting richer (thank goodness) 3) Speaker Pelosi has owned the Nations checkbook for 400 days but the debt and deficit continue to grow 4) We still don't know the mathematical equation to determine one's "fair share" of taxes 5) We already knew that Romney...was always about Romney 6) Donald J. Trump is still President 7) The predictions of many that Trump would resign under pressure were false 8) Cocaine Mitch is still filling opening in the Judiciary Branch at a pace not seen in years; On Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wasted no time after the Senate acquitted President Trump in his impeachment trail, immediately filing cloture on a number of judges as he continued his relentless march toward remaking America’s judiciary with a conservative bent
This concludes this episode of "ridiculous bullshit". Tune in next week for a whole new episode. Starring President Donald Trump and co-starring the entire democratic party.
Sar......” mario609 the democrats are pro-confederacy all of a sudden...lol .. or may be pro-slavery... ha ha ha ha...”
Yes, they are. However it is not all of a sudden. That is just the history of your party. I know you people like to try to change history but a better avenue to pursue would be to learn from history so that the same mistakes will not be repeated.
mario609 the democrats are pro-confederacy all of a sudden...lol .. or may be pro-slavery... ha ha ha ha...or wait...the modern democratic party is progressive liberal confederacy ..ha ha ha ha. And definitely dems like them statues.
"You poor delusional soul. Do you not realize that the “southern confederacy” was made up of democrats? You are truly an ill informed person. For fuck’s sake, read a history book."
