He could have declassified them and most likely did, before he removed them. Trump was no angel, but he was good for this country. Trump has changed his story about the confiscated papers at least three times. First, he contended they were not there at all. Next, he claimed the FBI agents planted them. Now he says he declassified them, with former aides saying he issued a standing order that any documents removed from the
WH would be automatically declassified. We all know this is his standard "deny-and-distract strategy" but isn't the bigger question, how did trump intend to use the information contained in the documents?

We all know most of his decisions are financially motivated so would he really sink so low as to sell nuclear secrets to the highest bidder? Maybe hold them ransom somehow or use them as leverage in future legal proceedings? It's pretty clear now that he did, in fact, remove sensitive documents that he is required by law to turn over to the National Archives so I ask his supporters why you think he took them and what you think he planned to do with them and most importantly, why are you ok with it?
