HEADLINE:::::Joe Biden will set his sights on destroying one of the most staunch Republican lobbyist organizations, the National Rifle Association.

Is THE SNIFFER crazy?  They have 5 million+ members all with many guns.  If 5 of those members go crazy and go after the Biden Crime Family, et al, etc. How can THE SNIFFER stop them?  He can't! Why doesn't THE SNIFFER stop the gun killings in the Democrat controlled cities?  He can't and won't.

Love nobu. And nobody wants to play golf with koreans, nobody. Too damn slow but they are great people. Used to play with them a lot in NNJ, learned a few words in korean, enough to break the ice and hopefully get laid lol. Luckily, not many of them around here on the courses

Stay the hell out of the cities in Cal, they all suck, been to all of them dozens of times, it's the people...Head to the mountains, go way up north or to the coast...Mary Jo

Pretty sure that Hot Springs near Bishop is closed due to china virus....There is or was a huge Dutch style bakery in downtown Bishop. kinda expensive but unique items, there is a large clearance section in back. I went there always. Great chicken ceaser salads premade as well. Was surprised by the great scenery on the eastern side of Sierras. Great little lakes, one lake west of mamouth airport in the mountains, winds 50 mph usually out of this canyon, was crazy...short drive off off 395..

@TBR

My office is within walking distance of the original Habit!

Funny story. The guy sold the concept and stores to a franchise company. Part of the deal was he was allowed to keep the rights to Santa Barbara. There are three here. He doesn't have to follow their menus or anything else. He kept the ones in Ventura but had to follow the menu there. Really cool guy, I have talked to him a couple of times. But the ones here in Santa Barbara have had the same things on the menus since 03 when we got here.

@Saph

I was dead serious to JC when I said there are parts of Alabama that are just gorgeous. Sand mountain starts just north of Gadsden. It is the first mountain in the Appalachians. On Sand mountain, about 20 miles to the north is a town called Guntersville. Guntersville has a massive lake there, as it is the end of the Tennessee River. That area is OMG beautiful. It is not majestic like Yosemite at all, but it has its own different beauty. The area is also famous as they have hydroplane boat races there. The hydroplanes love it there because the water is not choppy, it is flat. They can really open up the boats and haul ass!

If you get an opportunity to go to that neck of the woods, do it. Just enjoy the beauty of nature. Weather-wise it is interesting as it does get cold enough to snow, but generally not much at all. If there is 3" of snow, it's a lot. This to me though is what makes things look ugly that time of year there. The snow hits in the morning and by the afternoon it has melted. Then it is just ugly dirt/snow mix :( You can also go NW of there to go to Huntsville, about 60 miles away and visit NASA. You can go NE of there and see ROCK CITY :) JC probably knows what that means! Rock city is a place in Chattanooga where a big civil war battle took place. Lookout Mountain has a spot where you can see seven states by standing there.

The first time I was in Sacramento was 1995 or so.

Because it is a government town, there was literally nothing was open after 6. Even the Subway was closed.

I've been back since, and it has grown quite a bit...

I also love the drive up the 395 from Lone Pine to Bishop. There’s a neat bread and breakfast place in Benton Hot Springs nest Bishop with hot tubs and small pools filled with water from hot springs.

I like both the desert and the ocean with Playa del Rey and the fire pits at night on Dockweiler Beach two favorite places

Ever watch the documentary “Dogtown and the Z Boys,” which gives some great history about Venice and South Santa Monica area

Downtown has hotels I like, especially the Hotel Figueroa before it was renovated.

I almost never get over to the Westside or Apple Pan territory. I’ve been in LA for 35 years and started out in Fairfax and later Highland Park.

My other favorite restaurant is a Yucatán place in the Mercado la Paloma near the DMV at 37th and Grand called Chichen Itza.

Pismo Beach and Avila Beach are two favorite places on coast and then further up to Santa Cruz where I have seen some great summer theater on the campus of a UC that could have only been built or designed in the 1960s

Never was a fan of Arnold until his video today.

I’ve never been to Sacramento or Gold Rush country.

I first got here in LA in 1984. I feel it’s been almost three different cities from then to now.

I’ve never been in Alabama or New Orleans.

I have an older sister in Georgia abd I need to visit her again and give my thanks to state of Georgia for the elections

If you want a good quick service burger in Southern California, my choice is The Habit.

Fuck in-n-out.

I'd meet at Apple Pan.

:)

If you want to shell shock him, go to Nobu. He can laugh, like the rest of us, with all the paparazzi hanging out by the door waiting for someone 'important' to enter or leave.

California has some incredible beauty and some incredibly ugly areas.

Hang on the coast and go from San Diego to San Fran and it's gorgeous. Palm Springs, even though it is a desert, is really pretty as it has these gorgeous mountains to the West. You have Big Bear, you have Yosemite, you have Lake Tahoe.

Then . . .

yuck.

You get Bakersfield.

You get Lancaster.

Yuck!!!!

Hell, even the drive on the 101 from San Luis Obispo to San Jose through the central valley is not bad. You get to see all the veggies that feed the nation there. If you do it on the 5, you get to see all the Almonds that feed the nation.

UCLA, which I have deep respect for as a university, is also, alas, the place where Ben Shapiro got his start writing for the Daily Bruin and doing Joe McCarthy like tactics against some professors there.

When I was at UCLA, it was nicknamed "University of Caucasians Lost Among Asians"

JC555,

So glad your daughters enjoyed their visit to California.

If you make it to Santa Monica, you will be not too far from our home, which is very close to downtown Los Angeles. You may also see some clips of our home in a forthcoming movie directed by Michael Bay called "Ambulance." They are using our home for some shots. This is LA after all.

We are also within short walking distance from scenes from "Fast and Furious," the most recent "Star is Born" and "Chinatown" and a 8 minute scooter ride from Dodger Stadium

Better yet, as I think I mentioned, I'm also within 10-15 minutes from two 18 hole golf courses in Griffith Park and about 25-30 minutes from several others.

I'd take you either for an In N Out Burger or a Scallop Burrito at Senor Fish, close to the courses, or a roast chicken sandwich with garlic paste and a side of hummus at Zankou Chicken.

It's quite amazing to live so close to the center of a major city and be so close to several golf courses.

Note: You can rent a cart. I almost always walk.

ps. Here's a true anecdote about a time I played golf at one of these courses.

Many Korean-Americans play these two courses. Ten years ago when a friend as white as I am lined up to play the first hole, the cart ahead of us had 4 white guys in it. One of them came up to us and said: "I'm sure glad to see some white guys behind us for a change. The third world is taking over this course." I can't remember what I said except it included a profanity or two probably calling him a "bastard" or a saying a politer "go to hell." I added a comment that I'd rather play with any of the Korean-Americans out on the course than him. I confused him, and he walked away. There are all sorts of ways I have learned about white people and their various reflections about the changes in the demographics of LA and the USA. This anecdote is one of my favorites.

Is the bus still 50 cents in Santa Monica?

We would love to come to California. 2 of our daughters just got back from Sacramento. They went to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. Really had a great time. It will be great when our beautiful country can open back up fully

Santa Barbara, CA, Us

@JC

You should come to Santa Monica one time.

In all seriousness . . . that is where Bird and all the scooter rental places started. Why? HOLY SHIT . . . Santa Monica is extremely dense in its layout. One of the best paying jobs was that of a meter maid. lalatimes. com/newsfea/me_02_metergross.php Yup, she made 1.5mm being a meter maid. Parking is near non-existent. Finding parking lots is hard, finding even paid parking is very hard. So people needed a solution to get around in Santa Monica. They came out with electric scooters so you could bring it inside with you, no need for theft worry. They came up with electric skateboards as well.

A couple of years ago we spent a birthday weekend down there. We parked at the hotel and used scooters to get around everywhere. Everything is within 2 to 3 miles, so it was the best and easiest way to get around.

You know . . . that old adage . . . necessity is the mother of invention.

My kid's job is 7 blocks away. The choice of transportation? It rotates. Sometimes it is walking. Sometimes it is a car. Sometimes it is an electric scooter. Why? Parking.

PBR, Old Milwaukee, Coors Light, all the same...

Piss water...

That is why I bought my electric scooter plus I got a golf cart. No Sharia Law for me and my bunch. No sir. 'Merica

You haven't been to Alabama in a while. PBR is for the kids birthdays and other special occasions. We got to watch our money these days. When its really a special occasion we break out the Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill. Btw......I was thinking about letting my hair grow out so I can get me one them man buns......surely when we get together I will fit right in. Working on me accent also.

And I thought it was PBR, not ole Milwaukee. And when it's celebrating time, its MD2020

Santa Barbara, CA, Us

If you are going to play the stereotypes at least play it correctly.

Everyone here is super fit.

Everyone eats Kale.

Everyone hugs trees when they wake up.

Everyone cries when the sun sets.

Everyone gets plastic surgery.

Everyone drives a prius or a tesla.

Everyone grocery shops only at Whole Foods.

Everyone only buys local sourced products.

Everyone is a computer programmer.

Everyone makes 300k+ a year.

Everyone carries a gun in the glove compartment of their tesla for use during open shooting season on the 405 in LA.

Foolish stereotypes.

Now want to talk reality?

Grocery stores and most other stores can no longer give out the flimsy piece of shit plastic bags. They can sell you reusable plastic bags or reusable paper bags at 10 cents per bag. The impact of this has been incredible. sciencedirect. com/science/article/abs/pii/S0095069618305291 What is interesting is those that complain about this never ever mention how much they shop at Costco, you know the place that has never had a plastic bag.

Are there paper straws versus plastic straws? Yes. Some places have gone to paper straws. Some still have plastic. Today, out and about, stopped at Wendy's and voila, plastic straw.

Want to know why we push so hard to reduce plastic consumption? Ironically it ties 100% into conservative ideals. Plastic is made from what? OIL. By going to something that is reused, we lower our dependency on those damn Middle Eastern Sharia law MFs. By going to reusable bags, we also save MONEY. The bags that the stores sell for 10c, OMG. I have some now that are close to two years old. And guess where all the plastic goes? Do you know? It is CHINA. We pay CHINA to take our plastic and dispose of it. WHY? Because plastic is forever. We can thank Trump for this: e360.yale. edu/features/piling-up-how-chinas-ban-on-importing-waste-has-stalled-global-recycling

So know . . . please tell me why you want to spend money to support Sharia law and communistic countries? Aren't you a conservative?

Lol. You know us Bammers only drink Ole Milwaukee. Hell I figured we could grill some soy burgers and yall could give me some tips on how to tune my new electric scooter. Doing my part on emissions and such. Got get me one of them there wind mill things to.
