Here is a story that would NEVER EVER be published as it was written:
An anonymous source states that BONNIECLYDE has been funding Beastiality shows in Tijuana.
That would require the editor to go to the journalist and saying, "WTF. Who are these sources? What corroboration do you have to validate this claim?"
The journalist would have to have a LOT more than just that to get it to fly past the editors and publishers.
The journalists would have to go and get some proof other than a person's word. It could be checks. It could be videos. It could be other people who were there. Journalists are investigators who can write.
So if you read something that says anonymous sources, that does not discredit the validity. Naming can lead to shaming and repercussions.
There were over 200 stories on Watergate. Every one of them was anonymous sources.
