charged again

I don't think it's a tragedy. I do think it was preventable, but when you elect someone whose lifetime record is one of lawlessness, it's not actually a shock when they continue to commit crimes. The difference is that this time the crimes are actionable in a federal court instead of being civil matters or things that can be handled by, for example, paying a large fine and shutting down your charity or your scammy university or going to the oligarchs for money when banks will no longer deal with you.

Seriously, the Claude Rains line from Casablanca is really all I have here.

Anyway, it will be a fundraising bonanza for the former president, so I guess that's a win for him.

Trump brought these charges upon himself by not only taking classified documents, but by refusing to simply return them when given numerous opportunities to do so

Is that from the "guilty until proven innocent" part of the judicial system or from the "I have an internet connection" system?

12 hours from start of convo to Godwin's Law could be an SLS record.

If Trump wasn't a candidate then none of this would be happening. That tells me none of this is really a big deal, it's just a way to try to eliminate the most serious candidate. Sounds like Nazi Germany stuff

Better suited to the Quotes thread...

"None proclaim their innocence as loudly as the guilty."

Sorry, I don't remember where I heard that. Maybe my dad after the broken fishing pole incident?

ro_ri54Veteran

its not a tragedy..its our system working the way it should...no one above the law..even if his cult thinks him a god

ro_ri54Veteran

lets be real...he is guilty to most if not all by his own admission

tbrmskssVeteran

Let's be real.

This is a tragedy.

I am not going to weigh in about whether I think Trump is guilty or not. I don't like the guy, but he deserves his day in court. A jury of his peers will decide his guilt or innocence.

I'm trying to giver everyone the benefit of the doubt.

It is a tragedy that the DOJ feels that a President of the United States allegedly committed violations of the law, up to and including espionage,

It is a tragedy that President allegedly did these things.

It is a tragedy that we are so polarized that we have exonerated or convicted a man before he gets his day in court...
