I share the disgust/distress at Mr. Biden's decision to renege on his commitment and proceed with pardoning his son. While acknowledging the family loyalty aspect, Mr. Biden has...with this single action...neutralized any claim of innocence that the Democrats make regarding manipulation of the DOJ to political ends. I reject the notion that the President, or his family, should ever be "above the law".

I’m 50/50 on it. One side of me says he should not be excused. The other side of me says. He really is being held to a different standard. For someone without prior convictions, his plea deal in the gun case should have been honored. His tax charges should not have been dragged out the length it has. He repaid those taxes and penalties a few years ago.

But the bottom line is he’s not the first President to pardon a family member, or even worse a big time donor. Hell we’ve had Presidents pardon coat tail family member and then make them ambassadors.

I guess my true feeling is it’s a great big nothing burger.

Well, I have to say that I disagree with Biden pardoning his son. I think his son should have just gone through the judicial process and serve his sentence.

I also think that since they are prosecuting Hunter Biden for not paying his taxes, and then paying those back taxes in full, + interest and penalties, then ALL people who do this should also be prosecuted.

And if they are going to prosecute Hunter Biden for lying about using drugs on his federal background check form, then they should prosecute EVERY SINGLE PERSON who lies on their form.

Simple as that. That is what it means to be equal under the law.
