2nd impeachment

tbrmskss,
First I doubt strongly that the 45% number you quote is anywhere near correct. I hang with a pretty conservative crowd and I know absolutely nobody that saw the invasion of the Capitol Building as any less than an assault on themselves If they thought otherwise they would speak their minds to me.

Second I hope you can come to realize that the attitude you express puts all of us that may be unhappy, but are perfectly willing to let the side that one govern, into a position where we may feel the need to defend ourselves. Calling me a traitor, with what I think needs to be done to traitors, sounds a lot like an outright threat.

In four years TRUMP did nothing legally wrong. He should leave THE SNIFFER, HO & DIAPER with some poison pills to deal with.

How many votes are needed to impeach? Will he be removed or just impeached like Clinton was and remains in office? Answers please...

No, no, and no.

There is no healing without accountability. Trump is incapable of working on himself. He has shown it over and over. He is all Id. There is no higher functioning. He is incapable.

About half (45%) of Republicans are not embarrassed by the insurrection, but approve of it.

This is not something that started, or will end, with Trump. House members are not challenging procedure, they are fomenting insurrection.

If you supported Trump at any time, you are not a patriot, you are a traitor. If you think Trump should be pardoned, you are a traitor.

If you think there is common ground to be had with traitors, you are at least deluded, and more likely aiding and abetting treason.

You do not understand how close we are to losing our democracy.

Leopard... spot... YEP. He was doing a very good job of flushing himself and pouring Drano in afterwards, a fact apparent to most of us who supported him.

I am of the belief that most voted not FOR him but in opposition to what the Democrats brought to the table. That group, while taking a loss are not heartbroken he is gone.
If the winning side had just been able to stifle themselves and let him work on himself they would have succeeded in looking like the adults in the room with no further effort.

Why they are throwing a tantrum is beyond me. It looks like cheap one-upmanship.

Most, I am guessing 95%+ Americans were angry over the invasion of the Capitol. From what I can see MUCH less than 10% of those present in Washington actually participated in anything illegal. Annoying yes. Illegal no.

Most saw Trumps behavior as embarrassing.

The wide brush attacks demonizing everyone who ever supported the man is well beyond reasonable.
It is just as embarrassing as Trumps failure to act like something else than a petulant child.

The Democrats have no reason to behave like that. Trying to kick out members of the House, just because they challenged the procedure? That was done within the rules. If they chose to tilt at wind mills so be it. Let there constituents sort them out. They were not the first the play the procedural rules card, nor will the be the last.

Playing it out this way only adds credibility to those who lost.

America still appreciates a gracious winner. If Biden had any sense he would pardon Trump, for everything done in office , during his inaugural address. That would clear the field for him to just plain lead the country and not have to keep reliving the last term. Trump would be remembered with about the same affection as Tricky Dick.

I hope five N R A crazy members, one in a million, don't go crazy and think they are working for a Mexican Cartel and have assignments. It only takes one to incite the others. Then maybe it goes to one hundred crazies in a million. Third world coming? Do the math. Stupid Democrats can't make, peace before going to war. I know no one will come looking for me. They put down their paint ball guns in the woods and pick up their real guns and come to town.

The Dems won. They also won the Georgia runoff.

Trump's Cult followers refused to accept it. There are no points for style n grace in elections. It's win or go home, like playoffs on sports. You rebuild for next season or election.

Nick Saban could have whipped his dick out on the podium and they couldn't take the trophy from Alabama.

Not winning an election or failing to make the playoffs has consequences.

@ro_ri54 ..and impeaching him it enrages his voters. All they had to do was win with grace to begin the healing. They are egging on the very chaos they claim to disavow and that's bad.

This goes beyond big r Republican and big d Democrat.

Either you believe in small d democracy and small r republic.

Conservatives believe in neither.

If you support conservatives, you are part of the problem.

If you currently support Trump, or have ever supported Trump, you are part of the problem.

I don't care why.

Since antifa likes burning bldgs and hurting small biz I guess all dems do. Ok got it !

@tbr, so because trump pulled a shitty stunt and a handful of people who supported that shitty stunt, ALL repubs/GOP ? You like painting with a huge brush.

Sard, "Today House will vote to impeach the republican president for the 2nd time. This time Republicans join in. That's that." You should be honest R I N O's join in? They are a big part of the SWAMP, R I NO 's are SWAMP LIZARDS because Trump up set their PORK BARREL from D C.

Summerville, SC, Us

@tbr, that's exactly what the repubs say about your side.

Amusing that the followers of the “fuck your feelings” presidency are now calling for healing.

I for one will feel a tad better when those responsible for the insurrection are held accountable for failing to “ support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”

How does impeaching a president who got 70M+ votes, a week before he would be out of office, help heal a nation?

LOL

Lucy and the football again.

With 419 votes cast on impeachment in the House, no Republicans have voted Yea.

When will you guys see what is right in front of your faces?

The Republicans don't care about the rule of law. All they care about is power.

There is no Common Ground to be had.

“ LMAO - The Political Elite have you all very well trained.”

Please tell us how? Facts are facts. If Trump is impeached, and convicted, and a vote to not allow him to hold office again passes. Has nothing to do with political elites. It’s the Constitution.

Now if you want to argue that the politicians are doing it for selfish reasons? There all kinds of selfish reasons they’re doing it. If they had just not allowed him to get away with his bullshit the last ten years. They would not have to be selfish. No?

It is odd to me. I voted for him twice. I might again. It would depend who was running against him like it did the last two times.
Not once have I felt incited to do anything.

This latest attempt would have much more credibility if it were not for its backstory.

I do find it interesting that efforts to impeach him started before he ever took office. (ref just G+++++gle 2016 Trump impeach)

This early effort at impeachment is not awfully different from his effort to deny reality this go around. In each case I have seen more mature responses on grade school playgrounds.

I will put the violence down to the increasing tendency toward that in the last few years. Living in one of the urban areas affected by the whole BLM movement I have watched it grow with interest.

My personal political history would tend to make the observer assume that I would be sympathetic to BLM. In general that would be correct.

In specific I have problems with my wife being unable to safely travel to the library in this VERY liberal suburb , stores being vandalized in this same suburb, while all public events were canceled and the police stood down and let the "peaceful protestors" destroy the livelihoods of mostly sympathetic shop owners and make citizen afraid to leave their homes.

I will not brand the truly peaceful people trying to shed light on a real problem by tying them to their wing nut fringe
. I will also not brand legitimate protest by the wingnuts it attracts on the right.

I am also willing to accept the fairly high probability that in each case there was some involvement by ANTIFA groups bent solely on disruption, who capitalized on the presence of the wingnuts.

My suggestion? EVERYONE needs to chill. Raising racial and economic issues or political haggling to a fever pitch serves neither the Republic nor its individuals.
