WIFI and camping

Melvin, the premise of camping around here is fucking in tents.

When campers talk about getting wood, it ain't because they hope you have two matches in your pocket.

We used a lot of RV campgrounds during 2018 while traveling ant while we didn't stay anywhere long enough to interact much, it didn't seem that the average camper was much interested in accessing the Internet. Most just use their phone for weather updates. The few that are interested in Internet access often have their own method of getting to the Internet since campground WiFi is so iffy.

Posting a Hot Date or contacting locals well ahead of your arrival will probably be more successful than hoping a stranger might notice the name of your WiFi access point and try to find you.

Ah lcmim, I misunderstood the intention. My apologies.

NotAndrew.
My purpose was not to have access myself.
The purpose was to have our presence known to anyone who could properly interpret "slscouple" .

I know that people do look for a WIFI signal if for no other reason than to monitor the weather forecast.
This could easily function as a mobile "Hotdate" signal.
I see no reason that an introductory Meet n Greet meal should not be brats a burgers cooked on to wood fire.

My cell phone would be the connection to the internet, so I'd possibly be paying for a few extra GB.
I was asking about something to spread the signal.

This could be about as useful as Pineapples. I'd still be willing to find out.

The two match challenge is relatively easy here. We have lots of long grasses which we pull up and dry. That stuff goes up faster than newspaper.

While the premise of camping is to reconnect with family, friends and nature, with as little electronics as possible, digital life is now almost a necessary evil. People can do as they wish and make themselves feel 'one with nature' in whatever configuration they want. I however, would want the peace and quiet away from most electronics while camping.

As a challenge to those that want to or do go camping:

Build your fire out from scratch and get it started with a maximum of two matches and no accelerant. If you can't get your fire started and build it out with a maximum of two matches and no accelerant, then you have to knock it down completely and redo it from scratch. If you can't do this, then you are not ready for the outdoors.

Good luck!

We use T-mobile 5G. They have an “Away” plan, which can connect up to 64 devices.

A year or two ago someone here, said that they set up a WIFI signal at campsites so that anyone there who was in the know could identify that they were close. Identifying the router with something like SLScoupleatsite33

If they see this I would be interested in what hardware they use.

For that matter I'd take ideas from anyone.

We are doing more camping now and an available WIFI signal would catch our attention.
