[LOCKED]SLS KILLED email? WTF!?

San Luis Obispo, CA, Us

Your mileage may vary but we still meet more real people here. This place is far from perfect but it's still where the majority of real swingers are to be found in our area. We're not leaving and we're making the new system work. If we can actually find a better swinger site we'll try it but we haven't found it yet.

If you want to catch a fish you need to cast your bait where the fish are.

Don't know what the total member count is for SLS but forum users are a very small fraction of that number. The percentage of people complaining and threatening to leave versus the total head count of members is pretty minuscule. A few ticked-off members leaving or failing to recommend it to others isn't going to put this place out of business. Predictions of a mass exodus from this site aren't something we would bet our money on.

I've tried to keep an open mind and told myself to "give it a chance". But I can't hold back any longer, this absolutely blows! And not in a good way!
It has made a lot of folks very lazy, we rarely get a message any more that at the very least is a complete sentence. So tired of "whats up", "hey there", "how ya doing" etc.

We have all of the money we saved by paying a flat, one-time membership fee vs a monthly, recurring fee.

So, we have that going for us, which is nice.

How much money do we have?

I’ve definitely stopped recommending this site and have actively sought out others. I’ve also contacted less and less members on here each week. Just don’t feel the urge to send such an informal message knowing that it’ll not be welcomed for reasons that have already been expressed in this forum. Waste of my time and the time of the members I’m trying to contact.

Slow death if you ask me.

I used to recommend SLS to people interested in swinging, but I would never recommend it now. The only reason I am still here is because of the forums, and if they go away there would be no reason for me to be here anymore. I've seen so many new posters in the forum lately, all saying how they hate the email option being taken away. SLS already got our money so they don't care how we feel, obviously.

Or actively discourage LS contacts from joining.

What will happen , actually has already happened, is that the lifers are no longer recommending SLS 3-4 times a month.

So you lifetime members are going to quit and never come back? Kind of hard to believe that.

ThirdWheel:
I agree with you.
I don't load ANY applications on my phone as it is. I'm certainly not going to put an SLS application on my phone.. I guess this is it.

I am taking my business elsewhere ...the communication on this site has been ruined. I do not want a lifestyle ap on my phone ! People require discretion.

I do NOT use my phone to access this site. I travel and would use the "Hot Date" Calendar to find parties and events. Since Monday 7-15-19 I can no longer change my location on my profile or in the Hot Date section to find events when I travel! When I try to change my location I get this message " Please re-enter city using autocomplete" Thing is "Autocomplete" use to automatically drop down to click on and now it does NOT so I can NOT change my location to find events same message when trying to change my location on my profile! Wonder what we are going to loose next on this site. SMFH....... WAIT I know what they will take away next "Forums"! I can NOT submit a support ticket because it wont scroll down far enough for me to see and hit Send, I have tried many times, not sure if support ONLY works when using the phone apt, which I will never do!

Most of the message things have a blank box or a blue gumby, clicking on it takes you to their profile. It's not exactly an intuitive design, but given the history of SLS improvements........

You can click on their picture and it will take you to their profile.

The new system sucks!!!!! One line introductions and you have no way of seeing that person unless you go to search and look them us.

It seems too (to me, anyway), that SLS is trapped in an old/new patchwork technology box that is now so at odds with itself and expensive to maintain, that they (pretty much) can't easily, or economically program their way out of it.

Who the fuck knows??

As the Bard told us all those years ago, "Something is rotten in the State

Yes, I have received offers from LVD as well, my question is who owns it now? I have a feeling a lot of sites have been bought by the same group of investors and this is a way to get more of your money.

Oops, my mistake, it's only good for a week.

dragonrapide I know of quite a few couples who are starting to turn to LVD. I haven't used them in a couple of years, but a couple of days ago I received an email from them offering me a free upgrade to a premium membership if I came back. I wouldn't be surprised if they are monitoring sls and using this as an opportunity to bring back members and gain new ones.

I really don't like the new messaging system. If you write a long message, it breaks it up into multiple messages. I had a notification for 13 new messages. It turned out to be one that was broken up into 13 different messages. However, it appears that clubs/groups can still send email through the old system. I'm not a fan of this new messaging format.

So I go into tools to change my profile location to Stamford CT and then get a message stating "INVALID CITY" WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly I ONLY use my lap top to access this site. I NEVER use my phone to get on line don't use app's strictly voice, text occasional google and taking pictures. Im technique challenged and don't have kids to teach me all this ever changing technology.

I typed in a location in Pa and got the drop down and was able to select something. This is on an Anroid phone using a Chrome browser, if that matters.

TY Mayhem, It wasn't so much a hot date but I am traveling North so I wanted to view events in Stamford CT. I go to Hot Date page and go to Change location which even if you type it in it requires you to click on the drop down box showing Stamford CT and now that drop down box no longer appears and it wont let me access Stamford CT even if I type it in!!!!!!

Hmmm, I just looked and saw the text box for Change Location at the top of the page for posting a Hot Date. It let me enter something but I didn't try posting a date to see if it actually took it.
