Off topic. Sometimes when I post something I think might damage some of more "sensitive folk" who participate, (or lurk here, yes, we know you are there), I will change my profile pic for a few hours. And yes, I feel your pain. It isn't a pretty sight, but it's better than someone seeing the Pixie's pic there and thinking, "Damn, that little thing said that shit?" So for a little while it will be "Oh, that goofy motherfucker said that shit?"

But don't worry. I'll put it back in a while.

I don't even know if I can legitimately call this a pet peeve, mostly because I don't think enough people out there are actually this ignorant to do it often enough for it to be anyone's peeve. But since we don't have a thread entitled, "You May Be A Fucking Moron If..." here we are.

Your profile pic is of a leg. Not legs, but leg. Not the entire leg, just from the knee down to your foot. Not a foot with a hot 5 inch spiked heel, but a foot wearing a tennis shoe. Or "sneaker", if you will.

Never in a million years, not if it were the last profile we had not seen on SLS. Ever... would I open your profile. Just on fucking principle.

We have the same issue with pictures and meeting people in person. An excerpt from a text I received today when I asked if we were slowing down meeting people for drinks and chat:

So I appreciate that you've been honest enough to post what I suppose are accurate numbers even if they do indicate you to be somewhat overweight. (No, we're talking pro body builders.) But why not go ahead and finish the job by posting accurate pics. At 5'2" and 160lbs, I'm sure she's a very sweet person, but she doesn't look like that swimsuit model popping out of the pool in the 1 (ONE!) pic ypu have posted.

fishing at lake mead today, catching 5lb stripers and here they came..boats 6 boats zoom right where i am fishing...HA they did not catch a thing!! lol

Using the wrong lure..but i will never tell what is the right one...small lure is what is kicking ass. Everyone is using big lures.

Except of course, that basic spell check won't highlight words that are spelled correctly but used incorrectly. ;)

I can sort of understand that, even if it annoys the fuck out of me. Discrete/discreet being the worst. I don't even mind an occasional misspelled word, especially on texts/IM where the pace is faster. But a long series of outright misspellings or horrid grammar in emails tells me that the thought going through the person's mind is "I don't give a shit if I'm not communicating clearly. If you can't decipher what I'm trying to say, that's your problem not mine." Drives me batty.

I hate that shit too! Keeps me wondering if we are swapping 2/3 or 2/2.... fcukers.

I didn't read through all the previous pet peeves , but one of mine is when a person is trying to say "a woman" and they say women like, " she is a beautiful women" , drives me up the wall. Spell check is your friend

North, you are 100% wrong. A good MENTOR is the best thing a young person can have. "Learn from the mistakes of others, because you can't make them all yourself". Sometimes a stranger will be more honest to you then friends and, or family. Haven't you learned that in your life.

My biggest pet peeve is people who just feel that it’s their job to correct others. Whether online or in person. How about this? Don’t have an opinion where u have no responsibilities.
