Here's the thing. When the suite was filed GEICO had the opportunity to fight it in court. They chose to waive that and send it to arbitration. Their hand picked arbitration board agreed with the plaintif and awarded her the $5 Million. They way GIECO set up the arbitration process you basically have to jump through hoops to overturn their decision. These arbitration deals 99% of the time screw over the claimant and favors the insurer. This $5 Million is all GEICOS own fault.
Multi million dollar verdict in std case
Saw that case but can't believe the verdict. Another solution would be for insurers to exit states full of puritans who don't believe in sex education. There is a reason that hpv vaccine is recommended for girls under 13. Namely because the disease is ubiquitous among sexually active people..
If you want to be anti vax dont be a slut. And vice versa. Morons.
You can contract HPV or HSV even with 100% condom use. But most adults have had HPV at one point or another. HSV is also very common. Not enough money in the world to compensate everyone. I expect the case to be reversed on appeal and policies reworded to exclude STD transmission.
First judge who saw the case should have told everyone in the courtroom that condoms are cheap, many locations give them away.
Nobody raped or forced her to have sex. Case thrown out.
I can't sue nobody for when I caught crabs when I was high senior despite wearing a condom.
From now on communicable disease will have to be spelled out as an exclusion on every auto policy.
Lady has a clever attorney.
I think this is completely absurd.
What’s next, anyone who contracts an std at their lover’s house can sue and win millions from the homeowners insurance?
As if insurance rates aren’t high enough?

A verdict of $5.2 million dollars was entered against a GEICO insured driver for transmitting HPV to his passenger during a sexual encounter in the car. Hard to believe. Google it. I think it was in Missouri.
