Diversity is an awesome thing. No one culture is 100% perfect. I grew up in South Florida. I watched some of my friends get hit by flying shoes from their mom. Some will know exactly what that means. @Sum There are also white African Americans. Whites born in Africa and who have migrated here also fall under it. Also if you can find a black/brown person with a great-grandparent that has Hellenic roots, then hats off too you. Do you have a scholarship that specifically outlines only "Blacks and/or Latinos"? Because right now I see most worded as targeting minority groups, poverty, etc which is a whole nether ball park in legalize.

But in my context I specially refereed to the fact blacks in this country cannot trace back their family tree like 90% of most other ethnic groups. Asians, latnios, whites. @Sum You're looking at it wrong. First whites unlike blacks in this countries have not been screwed over and know their heritage. This means instead of looking for "white scholarships" you need to look for "danish scholarships" or "German Scholarships", etc. When done like so, you find ones such as "PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation" or "USTA NorCal Champions of Character College Scholarships" which require a Caucasian background.

On SAT and Ivy. If you have fully read the full news story and scandal then you also realize that SAT scores are only a minor part of getting in to begin with. In fact you have already pointed it out earlier in this very thread. If you have been following the news stories as you stated, then you should also know that Ivy league schools for decades have been pushing out Asian choices for everyone else. Why do I mention them? Because without any road blocks and in a true, system it'd be donner children, international kids, and asians-americans flooding the school system.

@Sum There are many minority grants you can/could apply to as a white male/woman. I've known and read many who have done so. Affirmative Action in particular is known for this. All you need to do is apply to a school where whites are the minority (ie any historically black college pretty much).

And on fire fighting. I remember reading the history of those. Prior to being socialized, their was a bit of a problem with the service being highly competitive in some areas. It got so bad rival companies would actually intentionally start fires in some instances.

These social programs are similar to the Marshall plan .To keep people from moving toward a communist / dictator type government. . I sincerely doubt that you have seen high end private schools. I sent my child to one. It was 30k a year. Her class size never hit more than 14. Most of the time it was 10. The graduating class was 30 students. Of the 30, everyone went to college. There were a lot of Ivy's and brand name schools. I know how they operate. And for fun, FUN talked about Huizenga. He went to Pine Crest in Fort Lauderdale, a high end private school. Our child got in. The had over 1000 applicants for 3 spots. We chose to move to CA. Public schools deal with masses, not with cherry picking. The public school has to take in those 1000 applicants. So yeah, they are getting the dumb ones as well as the smart ones. Not everyone can be a genius, regardless of the system.
